Anything you feel is a drastic change is most likely a bug.

A feature that allows a search of your own boarded dogs is on the request list, but currently, unless you know whose kennel the dogs are in and can do a search on their kennel, there isn't a way to sort through them

Boarded dogs show up at the bottom of "My dogs" in a separate listing. You have to visit the dog's page and "send home" to remove it from boarding.

Yes, but the code will resize any picture to fit the space, so if it's not cropped exactly right, it'll resize (proportional) to fit within 120x120.

They will be mutts. Most of the breeds on VP will throw mutts if you breed different breeds together. The only exception are some of the Wolves.
