VP Terms & Definitions

This is a revised collection of terms or abbreviations and their definitions. <br><br><span style="font-weight:bold"><span style="text-decoration:underline">Virtual Pups Definitions</span></span><br><br><span style="font-weight:bold">Aggro</span> - Aggression.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">BIN</span> - Buy it now.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">BP</span> - Bark Park. This is the in game bulletin board, which is a sponsor only privilege. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Brood</span> - Like a stud, this female is being used for breeding purposes.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Dye</span> - This is a special item that can be purchased for $9 USD. It allows for the application of a color to a dog. Also referred to as: goodie, goodie dye, unmade dye<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Fame</span> - These points are earned by hosting or participating in events. Only sponsors can host events. These points can be applied to skills or can be applied to the stat of a dog. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Fertile (or fertility)</span> - A breedable animal. Dogs can be bred up to age 12.5.3 as they become infertile (unable to breed) as of age 12.6.0. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Gifties</span> - These are dogs who have an already created color applied to them, either directly or through their bloodline. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">HB</span> - High bid, this is used in auctions. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Import </span>- This is a foundation dog, with no parents. It provides new blood for lines. These can only be obtained through a sponsor. Also referred to as an unmade import, where the dog has yet to be created so the breed and gender can be chosen.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">MBI </span>- Minimum bid increment, used in auctions. The MBI amount is the required raise from one bid to another. Example, an MBI of 50k would require an outbid of 100k to be at least 150k.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">MM</span> - Middleman. They are used to make transactions more secure.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Newbie</span> - New player. Also called noob or noobie. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Novice</span> - This is an unpaid account. A novice account does not indicate game knowledge or lack thereof.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">OAK</span> - Of a kind. This term refers to the number of dogs exactly like the one in question. A one of a kind giftie, for example, would be a 1oak dog. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Op</span> - Game administrators, here to enforce the rules and ensure player safety. Also known as game master, mod, or admin<br><span style="font-weight:bold">PB</span> - Personal breed. This is a private breed that cost $95 USD to make. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">PM or PC</span> - Private message or private chat. This is a message that can only be seen by yourself and whoever you're speaking with.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Release</span> - This has to be done before the dog is 0.5.3 years of age. This deletes the dog permanently from the game. The dog cannot have a previous event record if you wish to release it. <br><span style="font-weight:bold">Retire</span> - This can be done after a dog reaches 1.0.1 years of age. This sends the dog to K9 Heaven.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">SB</span>- Starting bid, used in auctions.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Skills</span>- 1) Player skills used to refine your specialty. A novice account can only have the handling skill, whereas sponsors can have two full skills. 2) Dog skills are discipline, work, sport, and show. These can be trained up to a maximum point total of 280 spread throughout.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Stats</span> - Refers to the ten stats of a dog -- friendly, aggression, adaptability, loyalty, courage, hyper, strength, intelligence, endurance, and speed.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Sponsor</span> - An upgraded member of Virtual Pups. Sponsorship is not an indication of knowledge or lack thereof.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Stud</span> - A male dog available for breeding either publicly or privately.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Support</span> - Generally references the ticket system, where users can file tickets regarding game issues. May also refer to the admins as a whole.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">TBA</span> - To be announced. This is used typically for end dates on contests or auctions. Also done as TBD.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Ticket</span> - This refers to the support system. Tickets are forms filed directly with the support system as a way for players to resolve game issues.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Upgrade</span> - This is referring to the sponsorship of an account. Upgrades cost $16, $25, or $109 USD. May also be referred to as a renewal.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">VPC</span> - Virtual Pups Cash. This is the currency on VP.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">VP</span> - Virtual Pups<br><span style="font-weight:bold"> x 4</span> - The number that precedes x 4 refers to how many 4 star stats a particular dog has. For example, a 1x4 only has one four star stat, whereas a 10x4 has all ten stats with four stars.<br><br><br><span style="font-weight:bold"><span style="text-decoration:underline">Common Training Terms</span></span><br><br><span style="font-weight:bold">280</span> - This means skill max.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">280/200</span> - This refers to a skill and stat maxed dog.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">w/ aggro</span> - This refers to a training where aggression is maxed (200) or capped (250)<br><span style="font-weight:bold">w/o aggro</span> - This refers to a training where aggression is not to be maxed or capped. Specific play type should be provided to trainers.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">RH</span> - Rough house.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">FP</span> - Friendly play.<br><span style="font-weight:bold">Grooming</span> - Refers to the practice of grooming or super grooming a dog for a long period of time.
