Labs are wonderful dogs with great temperments if they're from good lines and raised and socialised well. I've met a lot of puppy farm labs with awful temperments though but that's down to breeding.

Terrier pitbull type dog there is no australian shepherd in there at all. He's ridiculously cute though. I take it your friend did no research before buying what is supposedly a high energy intelligent dog that takes a lot of work then.
