Been a long time since I was able to catch up with everyone, I'm awfully
nosey curious.
I've been so incredibly busy, I don't know where to begin. Lilly's adoption hearing was on the 13th, so after like a year of fostering her, she is now officially my baby sister complete with a new birth certificate with my parents' names. I don't think any of you even know about my situation with her, but just know that I got a youngin' to teach how to draw.
Before that, my dearest most beautiful precious toothless hamster passed away, which was super difficult. My brother recently got a job, that's cool. I was away from home for a really long time to watch over my aunt's house... Just a LOT of stuff has happened. Roller coasters of emotion if I was more sentimental, but I've done decent at rolling with the punches unscathed, aside from losing Poshy.
Nowadays I'm drawing lots again (getting so much better!) and I'm back to collecting decks of playing cards 'n learning cool tricks. I'm in a good place!
What about you guys? Holdin' up alright?

I've also been busy getting things ready to transfer to a new college and start working toward a bachelor's degree in psychology. I've had quite a lot to do to get things in order but for the most part I believe everything is set.
School starts in a week, so today we are going school shopping for my 9 year old. Am so looking forward to school starting. Summers are hard trying to work and still keep my daughter entertained. On the other hand, her out of school means I don't have to drop everything at 2:30 to go pick her up, we can keep working when she's with us. She's looking forward to it too LOL She's tried of being drug around on jobsites. I'll be glad to be able to clean my truck out as well. Kindle, drone, books, crayons and coloring books, sidewalk chalk, kites, camp chair, etc.
My other daughter, the one who got me introduced to VP, has started her last year in the Air Force as well as her last year of studying for her BA in Anthropology. She plans to start working on her masters in Archaeology using her GI Bill and other military grants once she's out of the Air Force.
My step daughter got engaged to be married at the start of summer, so we've been squeezing in time to look at wedding stuff. Luckily, the wedding isn't until April, so we aren't pressed for time or money.. yet.

Oh wow, everyone deserves a big congratulations! So it
really is busy, huh? Hopefully everything will calm down very soon, but I’m
glad it seems to be good (though stressful) news all around!
Para, I hope you get your laptop working before your new college, having an
extra computer handy at home would be handy. Also psychology! I always thought
if I was going to go to a formal college (I went to a trade school), I’d study
child psychology. If you don’t mind, I’ll just sit here and live vicariously
through you ;P
Bama, you must be exhausted lol. I have a friend who works
across the lake painting houses and he complains about long hours in the hot sun
and all the hard work, he doesn’t have to do any building which I think would
be much harder. What kind of work do you prefer?
School shopping is fun. Hated it when I was in school of
course, impending math class doom and all that. But I actually miss it quite a
bit. I can’t believe school is starting for your daughter already! It won’t
start here until the first Wednesday of September in my district, so she
probably gets out of school much sooner than the kids here too. Your other
daughter though, air force, anthropology, archaeology, definitely a people
person, hm? She must be quite devoted, you must be proud.
Tiger, that is the worst commute I have heard, I really hope
you can find a job closer to home. That’s just much to miss out on when you
spend your whole life driving and working! What kind of work do you do?
Painting is kind of a mindless task, in that you don't have to think too much beyond putting the paint where it's supposed to be. This is nice sometimes, but then sometimes it becomes absolute drudgery and I want to hurry and get it done so the rest of the house can be finished. But I love when I'm done and can step back and see how smooth the walls look, how straight the lines are between the trim and the wall, how shiny the trim is and how well the color scheme matches the floors, cabinets, lights, etc.
I like building, organizing sub contractors, making sure people show up at the right time and do the job how it needs to be done, but then sometimes, it can be stressful when a sub can't get there when you need them, takes twice as long as they're supposed to, tears up someone else's finished work or does a lousy job. When a buyer comes to do their walk through before closing and doesn't find anything wrong, it makes me proud and when I walk out the door for the last time and lock it up, I know we've built the best house we could and sold it to someone who will love it and turn in into a home.
