Overdue Event Running

edited February 2015 in General Discussion
For about the past year, I've been letting events get to at least -14 days before running them. I had changed from running them at about -7 days based on this thread <a href="http://virtualpups.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83779"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">viewtopic.php?f=5&t=83779 Things seem to be picking up a bit and wanted to get a feel for how you would like them run.

I've included a poll, to see how the majority of players feel about events being run. I've not had any complaints about events being run too soon at -14, so no matter what's voted if something makes it to -14, I'll probably continue to run them to keep events moving unless y'all just really want me to wait longer.

Feel free to discuss or not as you wish, I'll allow for votes to be changed in case a player changes their mind.

 • I still keep my opinion as I stated in the topic you just mentioned. "I would love it if events were not ran until entries hit at least 26. That way dogs and owner's kennel get more points."

I have certainly noticed that the events stopped being ran so soon and I have been very appreciative of it - thank you! I hope it does not change. I realize that some of the events do not get ran for a long time - but they do get filled, which is wonderful. Yesterday I ran four events at 15 - 16 days with 26, 26, 30, 30 entries.

 • I feel much the same as Nacie and Bryson. I like to see at least 20 entries in events before they are run with 25+ being a bonus. However, I do sometimes wonder if the longer wait time is a bit off putting to new and novice players getting into eventing.
 • I'll start looking to run events at -10 and running those with at least 20 entries. I'm going to leave this thread open though so if players start to feel differently or if more players decide to vote, Ops can change how they run overdues based on current opinion.

 • As a sponsor/new player just starting out... I'm broke.

I rely on those events I've entered to be ran in order to get training points so I can start training and earning money. I understand dogs + owners getting more money, but I'm almost to the negatives and would really love to enter more events, practice training, etc.

I try to run my events after a day if they're full. I personally think it's pointless to be waiting around forever for people to enter 5 days from now.. when I could have won money every day from events I put up/run every day. It seems to make things go by faster for me at least.

 • Most players who want them to sit do so for fame points, which are used to get on the fame board, to swap skills, etc. The more dogs that enter your event, the more fame you get. This is only to determine when overdue events are run by Ops. Players are free to run their events as soon as they are 24 hours old and have 8 dogs from 2 different players.
