Hey, so I wanna get to know you guys again. I've seen a few people I've never met returning, and I haven't been here in awhile.
I figure this is a good way!

My favorite book (and this is silly to admit) is actually Harry the Dirty Dog. It's this children's book I read way back in elementary school. I read it like all the time, my family started teasing me for it. It's about this white dog with black spots who hates baths, and runs away. He ends up so dirty that he turns into a black dog with white spots. And then he gets home and it's just the cutest book with the most darling illustrations. I think that's when I realized that dogs and art are kinda my thing.

aaaand I guess I'll add something else. The Beatles are extremely important to me. It's kind of a family thing that starts with my grandma (who is the coolest gramma of all grammas) and just continues on to everyone else on that side of the family.

Thoughts on any of that? What do you dig?

i am so awkward at conversation

I'd have a hard time picking.
like a really hard time.
I really want a Volkswagen Bus from the 60's, with that glorious V front. don't make fun of me i know i'm ridiculous and that's totally not a cool person car LOL

In my dog training classes I go to for college, there was this pitbull named Tugboat (Tuggy). He was SO sweet, black and white. He came from a shelter and was so thin, his head looked huge!! But as classes went on, he gained some healthy weight and filled it out.

I used to play Minecraft, not so much anymore. My favorite thing was building underground houses, my batcaves.

My favorite video games are Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I've also been playing Skyrim like, nonstop for the past two weeks. It's really unhealthy for me, I just sit in my room and eat junk food while questioning my decisions to keep Cicero around! But with his comedy gold, how can you not? "...and the man said, that's not a horker, that's my wife!" bahaha. (facepalm)

  • I am also a pitbull nut (probably obvious lol)...and I'm into dogs in general, horses, and honestly all animals.
I'm crazy about anything purple!
I love to read, especially mystery and 'realistic' science fiction (favorite book: 1984). I like tv like that too, like the Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits...
I love doing anything artistic...I feel like the ability to create is just the most amazing gift! I love it all, from clay sculpture to film editing to mechanical drafting 8)
And math. I'm super nerdy, the kind of nerdy that I do long division and convert decimal numbers to binary and hexadecimal to pass the time

Btw Garnet, my husband would LOVE you! Seriously, he's been talking about wanting to build a 67 Shelby GT 500 since we met!

  • Hahaha, everyone knows YOU'RE a pitbull nut, Bryson!
Oh, the coolest thing, I live in a smaller city, so there's really not a lot of farm-type animals around here. We get a lot of wildlife like deer and rabbits. But I did NOT expect it when someone was riding their horse down my street. It was gorgeous, and so out of place! I wish I knew a little bit more about horses, I'd love to know what kind it was. Basically if it's not a Clydesdale or a Shetland pony, I dunno what it is xD

I love art, you guys know that. Mostly I'm a drawer, but I like to make little sculptures, too. And painting. I suck at painting, but it doesn't matter, it's still fun. I'd love to see some of the stuff you can do, Bryson! I saw your thread with sketches of dogs, you're super good.

  • This is a great thread to get to know people with :3

I tend to have a lot of interests, some of them strange, some of them not so strange lol. So lets see things I like:

-Almost anything dark, morbid, and macabre. This includes bones, skulls, gargoyles, dark artwork, horror movies, art, etc
-I love dogs, especially pit bulls seeing as I own a handsome lad. I also love most all other animals as well and have quite a few pets. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, some fish, a tiger salamander, and just had my 2 old rats pass away :(
-Anime, I may not be the biggest otaku out there but I love anime and Japanese and oriental things in general XD
-Music, art, writing, the arts in general
-I mentioned I have some fish and have been keeping aquariums for 15+ years now (would love to own a fish/pet shop)
-Photography : I use to take a lot of photos when I was younger and look forward to rekindling that passion
-Video games : I love Minecraft, Skyrim, Little Big Planet, Oblivion, Morrowind, Mario, Pokemon, Portal and there's more
-Psychology, sociology, and anatomy
-Science and learning in general

Ok there's probably more or will be as I'm always looking to expand my interests but that list works for now
  • Drama: I also love all the artsy things I do, even the ones that aren't that great  I can draw and I'm pretty good with acryilic paint, but sculptures and stuff always end up looking like a 5yr old kid made them lol But you're right, it's still fun! I'll work on getting some of my (better) art up to share

Ivy: Oh, food...how I love thee! Don't even get me started on cakes and brownies hahaha although my favorite thing is homemade sweet potato pie... I have a family recipe that includes the pie crust and everything and it is SOOO GOOD! And I am very interested in the clay dragons...could you maybe post some pics?

Para: What kind of anime do you like? It's kinda my guilty pleasure lol but I'm a little picky, it has to really draw me in. But other than that I'm really into Asian culture too...especially the artwork and architecture :-)

  • Lol bryson! I LOVE that car! I almost cried watching gone in sixty seconds because they beat the heck outta the car at the junk yard.. why would you harm such a beauty!?!?

I have a female pit bull named Faythe
registered akc chihuahua named heaven
Black n white Hound dog named jake (stray left in our yard with food and I fell in love)
black with white chest and tips american akita named Zane (stray that showed up one day with his brother. Kept them both, but his brother shadow passed away a few months later)
white and orange cat named harley
robo dwarf hamster named muffin
and a beta fish :)
  • Oh goodness, where to begin...

- Horses: Yes, I was the crazy horse girl all through elementary and middle school but in highschool there was a group of us lol My rescued AQH, Romeo, is my baby and I can talk about horses all day, every day. I love to train, show, and just generally be around horses!

- Finding Nemo: All time FAVORITE kid's movie. I'm not sure why, but I just absolutely adore it and can quote the entire thing (I'm quite obnoxious to watch it with haha). I have a Finding Nemo fleece blanket that I love to death and a Nemo pillow I bought in Disney last year.

- Art: I'm an art/psychology student in college and art has always been something I've loved ever since I was little. I could spend hours upon hours in an art museum and I can draw or paint into the late hours of the night and never want to stop.

- Music: I'm a TOTAL music junkie. I listen to everything and it's rare to see me when I don't have my headphones in or music playing in the room. I was really big into band when I was in middle school and highschool. I play French Horn, Trumpet, Mellophone, and piano and was a Drum Major/Field Commander my junior and senior years of high school. My college has one of the best music programs in the country and I love to just go and listen to the rehearsals (I can't participate because it doesn't fit my schedule). But I'm into more than just 'band' music. I'll listen to pretty much anything! I'm currently obsessed with Bastille, Twenty-One Pilots, General Ghost, and Panic! At The Disco (one of my all time favorites).

- Psychology/Philosophy: Okay, now I'm getting nerdy haha I'm also a psych student and I'm fascinated about learning why we do things the way we do and how the mind works. I'm also really big into life theories and philosophy - it's just interesting to me and I like to be able to think outside of the box and try to think of new theories for things.

  • Ivy! My mom makes dragons, too! And of course food counts and I’d love some of your mom’s pudding brownies, YUM. And I loooove the raspberry cheesecake cookies at Subway, they are top notch. But I think my faaaavorite food is probably cinnamon buns.
oh jeez cicero. Why do I put up with him? Bahaha xD I have Cosnach following me right now because I really like what he says about my Amulet of Mara. So flattering!

Para, you and I seem like the same person. I haven’t played any of the other Elder Scrolls games, but my brother got the whole anthology, so I’m gonna be able to play through them all really soon. I’m very excited!

Coaster, Finding Nemo is so ridiculously cute, I love that movie.

I’m surprised at how much of us are interested in psychology and philosophy! I’m interested in it as well, I used to want to be a psychologist when I was younger (along with acrobat, mortician and historian). Now I’m working to be a dog trainer, almost done with my schooling. That’s quite exciting!

I also really like cartoons. Like way, WAY too much. Basically everything my brother and I say to each other is a Spongebob quote, or something along those lines. xD

I never thought I would be into them but I was wrong lol. Even have some VP dogs named after some of the Gundam series haha. I like a lot of the darker anime too such as horror and paranormal based ones and some that are just weird or bizarre. I love anything fantasy based and have a lot based on magic users. I'm not sure what all genres there are but anything that has roots in my interests draw me in.

Some anime I've watched and enjoy include : A lot of the Gundam series, Soul Eater, Chaos Head, The Legend of Black Heaven, Karen, Rosario + Vampire, Blood C, Ghost Hunt, Another, Claymore, High School Of The Dead, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Tenchi Universe, Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki, Shikabane Hime, Shakugan No Shana, Devil Lady, and there's others but I can't think of them right now, would have to go through my computer lol.

I love Asian artwork and architecture as well! For Xmas my brother bought me a small print from an art show and even talked to the artist, who he said barley spoke English. Its a print of a koi fish pound and it is so pretty. I have a few of the paper fans and lanterns. I found an awesome set of wooden combs when thrift shopping. My brother has gotten me a lot of cool oriental things in the past, such as a wooden statue of an Asian man. I have one Chinese lucky cat/maneki neko and want to collect more.

I love the Elder Scrolls series! They are some of my favorite games of all times! Psychology & philosophy have always been huge interests of mine. If it wasn't for how much education is required I would love to look into becoming a psychologist or psychiatrist. I'm thinking (if things work out money wise) about going into social work with a minor in psychology and getting a bachelors degree and looking into some counseling type work. From what I've found you need a masters degree to do actual counseling work and would love to maybe peruse that more one day.

You mentioned interested in being a mortician and this is another career I've thought about. But there's only one school in my state that offers mortuary studies and its too far away for m to travel. And now your going studying to be a dog trainer!

It was just recently that I finished Soul Eater. I really enjoyed it but the ending seemed anti climatic to me. The kishin falling apart like that all over a word just kinda threw me off a bit. Other than that I loved the rest of the series. The Legend Of Black Heaven is a really neat one. It's based on rock music and takes a pretty neat turn and gets some Sci-Fi ness in there. High School Of The Dead is a zombie anime and is pretty awesome. From what i know there is only one season out on DVD and I'm still waiting on the 2nd to come out XD

I've always been drawn to the darker side of things. • You guys! I never looked into any schools around here because right after high school is when I found my dog training trade school, which I love (even though their whole website is in Comic Sans…haha very profeshonal collej.) But I’m still really interested in it all, I wanna know the process! I think it’s SO crazy that we wanted to be morticians, because well… not a lot of people want to? xD

And then it’s funny to think that with all this darker stuff, Para and I are both very childlike at heart. In regards to Fairly Oddparents, did you see that Valentine’s episode where Cupid ended up hospitalized and was attached to a coffee IV? I haven't watched anime in so long, and I'm looking for something to fill that void xD. Did you guys watch Blood+? That and Naruto were my first ones to watch. Very different, but I liked 'em both! I also really like Zombie-Loan.
    ekews2.jpg
  • i used to watch all those shows as a kid now days though i watch a few animes my faves are nightwalker ,chihiyafuru and sketdance i watch alot of others (since those series have ended) im watching shugo chara, polar bear cafe, watamote and blood c at the moment ,never got into naruto i wasput off by the english voices so i never watched it in japanese either and ive never really been in the storylines for those sort of animes,( i. watch all my animes in japanese with subtitles) my first anime i think was sailor moon but im not sure since it was such a long time ago ohh and of course i watched digimon and pokemon when i was younger and i like the movie spirited away (think thats the right movie cant remeber very well)

my mum wanted to be a mortician shes facinated by autopsies and grim things in general,.
these days she sticks to making soaps :)

  • @ Dramatic :

It is kinda weird to find others who want to be morticians in one place. It isn't the first job people think of when asked what they wanna be XD

I've noticed a lot of the people who like the darker things, at least the ones I know personally, seem to stay childlike at heart as they grow up. I do all the adult things I need to, pay my bills and what not but other than that I'm really just a big kid haha. As for the Valentine's episode I didn't get to see that one T__T but it sounds like a good one! Right now me and my BF are watching the old Dinosaurs show that use to come on when I was little, with Earl, Fran, Robbie, Charlene, and Baby Sinclair XD

I've not yet watched Blood + but I've got it and will watch it sooner or later lol. Just started one called Darker Than Black last night and so far it's good. I'm only a few episodes in. Its a supernatural/paranormal one it seems XD

@ ivybear93

I use to love watching Pokemon and Digimon both. Did any of you guys watch Monster Rancher? Not too long ago I re-watched the whole thing hehe. I actually prefer my anime with English voices only because by the time I read the subtitles I feel like I've missed out on the action. Other than that I do prefer the sound of the Japanese voices. Too bad I can't speak or understand it T__T then I wouldn't have to worry with the subtitles.

Speaking of autopsies and stuff when I was in high school and in the medical major we went to an anatomy lab where people had donated their bodies to science and what not. It was really neat, there where autopsies that had been done and we got to see the inside of the body and then also got to see and even hold individual organs. Then I've also more recently been to 2 exhibits, one called Bodies Revealed and the other was Bodies World or something like that. It was like a mix or art and Science. There are full body plastificants or something like that. It's bodied that have been skinned and dissected in various ways depending on what system they are showing. They are preserved by injecting the tissues with like a plastic type stuff. Some of the poses were very artful in nature but still showed how say the nerves work. It was very interesting. They have an animal version too and if it ever comes close enough I plan to visit.
  • Well, that Valentine’s day episode will come around again :P That part was just so funny and relatable!

@Ivy<;br>I getcha. Most people are put off by Naruto because of the sheer amount. The English dub for Naruto doesn’t bother me, I like most of the voices, and it’s not often that happens! Generally I like to watch my anime with subtitles, too.

Also pokemon. So much Pokemon. I never watched Digimon, but I remember when I was really little, we went to Burger King and on the side of the bag, there was a list of a bunch of Digimon and I tried so hard to memorize them all. Of course years later, I’ve forgotten them.

@Para, my parents went to one of those exhibits! It was called Bodies: The Exhibition. I would have liked to go, but then they mention something about dissected any/or diseased eyes. That’s where I have to draw the line, messing with eyes really freaks me out. I guess it’s good I opted for dog training, isn’t it?

I’d love to see an animal version, that’d be crazy interesting. I really like looking at animal muscular and skeletal structures. Especially skeletons.

I'll add another favorite to the list. We were talking about art earlier - I really really REALLY love to draw human portraits. It's my favorite thing to draw and what I am most skilled at. Maybe I'll post some examples!

  • @ Drama

The one we went to only had 1-2 exhibits with the eyes being dissected or diseased. The last one we went to had an awesome full body exhibit with a guy fencing with a sword. It was really neat because in the back he was split into 3 layers and they all came together in the front with the arm with the sword. You could walk all the way around and look at all the angles and it was just amazing to see.

I really hope the animal one comes close. I saw some pictures of it in one of the books at the gift shop and they had some really neat exhibits. I'm like you in that I really enjoy the skeletal systems. I'm not sure what it is about them but it just intrigues me.
  • I went to see Bodies Revealed when it came to my city! It was really cool...there was a couple dancing what looked like the tango, one guy was skating, and there were a few others. It was really cool to see all the muscles etc "in motion" like that. I never heard of the animal version but I think I'll have to look that up :-) But I agree it is unusual to find so many people in one place that at some point aspired to be morticians!

Drama I'd love to see some of your portraits! I love drawing/painting but I could never get the hang of people. I can draw just about any animal/structure/nature scene but I've only ever successfully drawn two portraits. Maybe my brain doesn't work right or something but the lines and proportions never come out right

  • @Bryson

I also saw the couple dancing! It was a really cool exhibit for sure. The first one I saw was more plain than the second one which had more artful poses. The first had a bike rider, baseball player, and stuff like that. The second had the dancers, the one fencing guy, and I wish I could remember the others. I'm not sure what the animal one was called but it sure looked neat!
  • Seeing bodies captured in motion has to be one of the most educational things one can do. For anything, too! Art, biology, sports, medicine, that kind of knowledge goes a long way and is definitely worth going to an exhibit for.

Anyway, I have more favorites! I’ll spew ‘em in a list, let me know what you think ;3

-Lavender (scent & flower)
-Compliments
-Surrealism
-The Beatles

Also my goodness. I have been obsessed with Mario games lately. That hasn’t happened in quite awhile!

  • Hmm, I'll have a go at this

Favorite colors are teal and purple, but like, a midnight purple, not Barney purple. I'm obsessed with owls and also love Beluga whales. I love Mac, and prefer it over PC (except when it comes to gaming ;-; ). Oh, and I also love MMO's - WoW, LoTRo specifically. Speaking of... The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are my favorite book series. Individual books, I'd have to say The Hobbit (duh), The Perks of Being a Wallflower, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and most recently, The Fault in Our Stars. I'm in love with Legolas and Snape is my favorite Potter character, by far. Hmm... oh! The Sims. Obviously. British people are my favorite everything. I desperately wish I was British ;-; Life would be so much more interesting, would it not? xD Spongebob was probably my favorite cartoon as a child, and I generally think the 90's t.v shows (especially for Nick and Disney) were the best :3 Sushi is my favorite food, no arguments there.

Now, get ready for a real list. This is where it gets serious.

Favorite Actors (in no order)

Benedict Cumberbatch
Ewan McGregor
Jennifer Lawrence
Martin Freeman
Greg Kinnear
Paul Rudd
Jason Segel
Sir Ian McKellan
Tom Hiddleston
Emma Watson
Robert De Niro

Favorite Movies (also not in order)

A Bronx Tale
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The Shawshank Redemption
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Forrest Gump
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
It’s a Wonderful Life
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Good Will Hunting
Dead Poets Society
Lords of Dogtown
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Truman Show

Favorite Shows

Sherlock
Shameless
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
Grey’s Anatomy
Supernatural
The Walking Dead

I'm big on movies xD I really don't watch a lot of t.v, only because I'm really picky about shows - the writing has to be like...excellent or else I can't seem to manage.

  • Oh jeez, you’ve got quite the lists! xD I prefer PCs over Macs, because I have this personal vendetta against Apple (except I de like my iPod Touch I’ve have for like, 5 years lol). I want to play WoW SO BAD but I dunno if I’ll get to since I’m too busy frivolously spending my dogsitting money on other games. I wanna buy New Leaf next.

My favorite LOTR character is also Legolas, and as far as Harry Potter goes, I really do like Xenophilius Lovegood. Favorite books… I really liked Inkheart. (do not watch the movie remake though. It’s not even similar). The Fault in Our Stars is excellent, also really liked Will Grayson Will Grayson, it’s a little funnier. Also an Edgar Allen Poe fan. Obviously.

90’s shows are the best. I dig Rugrats. I was so thrilled when they brought back 90’s Nick. Does anyone remember back when Disney Channel had those robot things? A little dog robot named Browser? Ahahaha!!

Jennifer Lawrence and Tom Hiddleston are amazing actors and wonderfully pleasant people. I’d also like to add Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and the entire cast of Supernatural.

I also love LOTR and Harry Potter as movies. Spirited Away is a favorite of mine. Dead Poets Society was a fast favorite. Oh! Did you guys see Monsters University? I laughed so hard at the part with Randall and his glasses…

Sherlock, Supernatural<3 My next goal is to tackle Game of Thrones, so Olli, be ready for that. XD

Also everyone ever should watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. It may be my number one favorite. It's 40 minutes long, instant on Netflix, directed by Joss Whedon and the three main characters are played by Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion. The music is excellent. My friends made me watch it a few years back and I still love it.

I know you guys are gonna pick on me, but I only just saw Lord of the Rings, maybe a month or two ago. For some subconscious reason, I tend to avoid anything that everybody else likes...My husband finally convinced me to watch it now I'm obsessed with it! At Christmas, one of my in-laws misspelled my name on a card (called me "Adaron"), and I made it into my elf name

I have to add an actress to the list: Elizabeth Banks. She's a talented and versatile actress, but never seems to get the respect she deserves :| I love her in everything she's in!

I've never been to Universal Studios ;-; And a tiny bit more of me dies on the inside each day I am without having been to the Wizarding World (curse you, Orlando!!!) :(
That's fine that you've just seen Lord of the Rings (at least you've seen it now)... as long as you've seen Star Wars before ... >.> <.< It amazes me how many people have lived so long without having watched a single Star Wars movie D: D:

  • I'm a huge book and movie nerd. :3

A few of my favorite authors are J.K Rowling, Suzanne Collins, Nicholas Sparks, John Green, James Patterson, and Ellen Hopkins.
There are way too many movies I love to list, but here's what seems to come from the top of my head...

Juno
National Treasure
Bridesmaids
Remember Me
The Notebook
A Walk to Remember
Pitch Perfect
The Breakfast Club
Friends with Benefits
The Perks of Being a Wildflower
Now You See Me
50 First Dates
Big Daddy
Titanic

I also love just about every Disney movie and am a huge loser when it comes to t.v shows and music. <3

  • I LOVE Universal Studios!!! I'm lucky enough to have family in Orlando, so I've been to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure many times! They're all great :-) Though I haven't been to the Wizarding World, I think that's Islands of Adventure but I don't remember. Last time I was there I saw them building it, but it wasn't open. And yes, I have seen Star Wars...I'm not a total loser

Flash I'm a huge book nerd too, by husband's the movie nerd. One of my favorite things (which I guess I forgot to mention earlier) is finding "hidden treasures." I go to the library and look for a series written by an author I've never heard of, and more often than not I get hooked! I also really loved the movie "Now You See Me"...I've always been into magic/illusions, as a kid I did coin magic and I was even a magician's assistant at one point a few years back. That's one of the very few movies I've watched more than once!
