New To VP

Thought I would introduce myself! Hoping to learn how to play VP and not sure where to start. Thought the community would like to give some advice

Have yet to purchase dogs because I'm not sure what events/breeds would be best to start off with. I'm also an artist and can create banners, manips, and layouts! So, keep an eye open for possible art auctions in the near future. I'm going to need some extra cash, lol. So, I hope there's interest in art here. Also, I see a beta board. Is that still going on?

Hello there and welcome to VP! Always love to see new players show interest and VP can always use more active players. You've come to the right place for figuring out the game. There's a help section and a tips and trick section that has lots of great information. Bryson has set up some help pages too. They have links somewhere, I think on their kennel page in game. It has info on eventing, training, and just about anything you would want to know. Also me and other players are always willing to help so feel free to ask questions. When it comes to eventing and what types of dogs do best it depends really on the event. In some it doesn't much matter the breed in others, like mushing, wolf breeds get a bonus. Training is most important when looking to event. There's lots of players with event dogs that are willing to sell. Also some rescues have fully trained dogs up for adoption. Demand can come and go at times but there's usually someone looking for graphics. A lot of times people will offer a few, usually 3-5, for free to get examples and kinda get their art out there then open up a commissions thread. Hello and welcome!

Art type things are definitely sellable here, so I would definitely encourage you to hold and auction for some of your stuff and that way you can get a feel for how much people are willing to pay for them.

As for buying dogs...I have tons of great dogs I'd be happy to give you/lease you for free to help you get started in the event world

Also, you should post some examples of your art in <a href="http://virtualpups.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Artist Alley</a> and show off your skills!

Welcome to VP! I've been around for quite a few years myself. Although I think Bobbers (bobcat) may outrank me by a year or so haha I still love her though :P Nice to meet you! Welcome to the game! I usually go by Frost, and I've been around since about 2009. I think you'll find the community to be pretty awesome!

Just about anybody would be willing to help you out. The game can be slightly confusing at first, but once you understand it, it is pretty addicting. Art is definitely in demand, and there are many who will pay good money for it (including me!). As for beta, as far as I know it still is going on. The game is being recoded, mostly to make it easier to work with. I guess the current coding is a little sketchy, fix one thing and another thing breaks!
