Some people on here know I work at a gas station. Which like all customer service jobs brings in all kinds no matter what time of day you work. But today we had our polar pop station go down (Basically fountain pops). Our boss even came running in on her day off to try and help fix it. We ended up putting three large signs on the machine reading 'Sorry out of order' On it. And people kept asking if it was really down and not working so I made a new sign that said 'Sorry for any inconvenience, the polar pop machine is out of order.' and hung this on the machine at eye level so that everyone could read it. And understand it was down there was nothing on it working.

It took 20 minutes for me to be proven wrong when someone tried to get ice then snapped on me because no ice dispensed despite three out of service signs and one stating the whole machine was down. So to try and stop people from abusing the poor broken machine I placed two more out of service signs on the ice dispensers. Thinking clearly they could see nothing on this machine was working. I was once again proven wrong when people tried to use the machine covered in five out of service signs and one stating that it was not working. Then came up to tell me what I already knew that the machine was out of service. By the end of my 9 hr shift i was torn between beating my own head in and getting evil joy out of telling people I was sorry about something beyond my control but if they wanted one still they could drive across town to get one. And seeing them scowl at me while I smiled happily knowing I just annoyed them as much as they did me. I think I lost what little bit of sanity I had today and all I did was ring up customers and trying to fix what I could with my co-worker.
