So I quit my job.

edited December 2012 in Vent
Hey! How's it going?

Anyways.
Earlier this year, I started working at a fast food restaurant. I loved making my own money. Money is nice. Money gets you places.

I hated it.
I don't think I've ever seen so many adults act like they were still in junior high school. My manager talked about everyone behind their backs (I thought employee information was to stay between the employer and employee? I didn't realize it was meant to be talked about around the other employees of same rank).
The cooks, who were aged older than 40, went and ran to said manager over everything.
All of them spoke fluent Spanish, minimal English.
Made fun of me for not speaking Spanish.
Got my hours cut (-10 hours/week) for calling out on race day with a 102*F fever (couldn't even see straight!!)
Manager obviously played favorites.

Anyways, I put my two weeks in about a month ago, and was talked out of it.

After a two week hiatus (Branden came home), I come back to find that I'm only working a 6 hour shift that week. Just one day!

Sorry, but the gas I waste driving the 30 minutes (combined there and back) while sitting in mall traffic was not worth that.
I just flat out quit.
They made me feel unwelcome from the moment I stepped in that place.

I feel so relieved now, though. I love going to bed early and going to the gym early and not falling asleep in class. And making good grades. And all the other run-on sentences etc.

I'm applying for new jobs. Unfortunately, I might not find another one with ease.

But for God's sake, it won't be another fast food chain. Pizza places are one thing, but to be THAT involved with the general public...
Just no.

 • I work at a pizza place. And I am very involved with the general public. I walk around with murder in my eyes.

 • I wish I could quit my job.. .-.
I work for fedex and EVERY SINGLE ONE (aside from a small minority) are either Mexican, Indian, or Asian. They all congregate around my station and talk in their language and laugh..all day, everyday.
I've been talked about twice that I know of (not sure if it's good or bad, but it was about me, lol).

One of the guys (20s maybe, not sure of nationality) asked one of the girls who started working with me if she wanted another husband O.O He then proceeded to come to my station, watch the pile that was stacking up and stare at me..and then he took his hoodie off all.."attractive-like" and keep staring. Like..I don't really care what people say or think, but do NOT let me get boxed in by packages because you're staring and aren't working...

But, I've made a total of..3 friend's, lol. There's one guy (who I might occasionally glance at, lmao, though WHILE WORKING still), and two girls that are..well, American. I'm not against other nationalities at all..but if you're in the US, please speak English if ya don't wanna hear me flip my lid on ya, haha.

I mean..if it weren't overflowing with people who have no desire to speak English unless they're trying to holler at you, and you still not being able to understand them, I wouldn't mind staying at this job for awhile..I can't quit till I have another job though, sadly. :/

Good luck with everything though, and it's probably better to get rid of the stress from there :p
