It's weird how most Chihuahua owners originally grew up around big dogs and considered themselves 'large dog people.' xD

I think I liked Chihuahuas so much (besides the fact that my lifestyle matched the breed 99.9%) because they're big dogs in a little body! They really have no idea that they're so small. :]
Good news! Czar went to his first vet's appointment today and he was very impressed with his body and facial structure.

He was telling me how proportionate Czar was and that I probably chose the best puppy out of the litter because he had a great, easy going temperment. Also, his "applehead" face was better than most Chihuahuas because his forehead doesn't stick out too far. His snout is of a good length, not too short. He thought he heard a heart murmur at first but soon realized it was nothing - thank goodness. He continued to tell me about all the illnesses and diseases Chihuahuas can get (all of which I already knew about) and was very informative. He also said that Chihuahuas are not very susceptible to parvo as much as other breeds, they have a stronger immunity to it, and that he should be good to go out and do lots of socializing with any dogs in any environment in about two weeks. Czar recieved his parvo, distemper, and rabies shots and about twenty five minutes into the appointment, we were headed home. :]

I really love my vet because he's so soft-spoken and gentle. :] He kept commenting on how sweet Czar was and I know he has smaller dogs of his own so he's very familiar with them and how they need to be handled and touched.
Forgive me if you've said before, but what kind of camera are you using?

Czar is very cute! I'm not typically a small dog person, like 'em big, but I want a chihuahua so bad!
I'm using a Canon Rebel XS... but to be completely honest, I'm useless with it. I've got no real idea on how to use it properly... xD

I consider myself a big dog person too but because Chihuahuas are exactly like big dogs (minus the size obviously =P), they're perfect! When I was thinking of getting a dog for myself, I kept in mind that most places that I'll be able to rent when I'm older might not allow large dogs... some places are more willing to accept a very small dog. Plus, I was also thinking of costs. Small dogs eat less and everything they need is smaller and therefore cheaper! :]
Thank you! I, myself, love his markings as well. He was a lot lighter when I first brought him home but his markings darkened as he aged - and he gained a few speckles on his snout and legs.
Here's a few photos from this evening. He got to go for a walk in the snow off-leash. The snow is really crisp and tough right now, so we could all easily walk on top of it without sinking and getting our legs/feet soaking wet. I love when the snow is like that, perfect for walking on days like these!

The photos were a lot lighter on my camera's screen. Turns out the sun was setting too fast and they're actually darker than I'd like.

"Who's that, Mom?!" His feet point outwards a lot more than I'd like them to.

This stick was way too big for him.

Here's him with his harness on.

He was so happy that he had a chance to walk around off-leash behind our street's houses. He doesn't often get to do this because there are large dogs running loose with their owners sometimes and I just don't trust Czar to be wandering 10 feet away from me while there's a huge dog around... he could easily be severely hurt in one bite! I don't let him loose when other dogs are on leash either. If there's dogs around, he's strictly on a leash. I'm not taking any chances, he's only 5 lbs. So, he loves his freedom! When I called him back to me, he got so excited and playful because he enjoyed being praised when he obeyed. I plan on taking him for plenty more walks in busier places in town now that he's gotten over his "fearful of everything" puppy stage!
I love that one with the giant stick. XD He really is gorgeous! I love long haired chihuahuas.

Pook's feet point outwards a little more than I'd like, too.
D'aww, he seriously looks like he is smiling!
He looks so happy

He's a very happy dog all the time. Especially when he's with me, my mom, or my mom's best friend. Or if he has a tennis ball - he absolutely adores playing fetch and has been successfully doing it for months now. I'm bound to be playing "hallway ball" with him for the rest of his life.

He has a special connection with my mom's best friend because she wanted to hold him on the drive back home after we picked him up on his first day. He threw up all over her and was car sick the whole time, so he shares a bond with her now. xD He's staying with her for 10-11 days while I go out of town so I really hope he doesn't miss me as much as I'll miss him!
