Guinea Piglets on the way!

So, while I was away from VP I aquired another guinea pig! Her name is Pixie, and she is currently very pregnant. She's very skittish due to complete lack of interaction as a baby, but I've been working with her and she's getting better. My other guinea pig, Patches, fell right in love with her, and well the G-rated version is that Pixie is due to give birth at the beginning of September! I'll keep this post updated, and of course announce when the babies are born. Baby guinea pigs are so unique, they are born with all their fur, and their eyes open. Within about an hour they are bouncing around and being very active! I'm guessing she'll have 3 or 4 babies. <a href="http://i.imgur.com/kuJaI.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://i.imgur.com/kuJaI.jpg</a>; (Sorry for the crappy quality) And here's Patches, the father: <a href="http://i.imgur.com/oSlSz.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://i.imgur.com/oSlSz.jpg</a>; (He's about 3 years old) We plan on keeping one baby, and my friend wants to "adopt" the rest of the babies, so I know they'll be going to a good home.

Aw! Guinea Pigs were never an animal I'd be interest in owning, but my best friend has one and she's an absolute sweetheart. She always squeaks 'cause she's so happy. Her name is Winston xD (no one could think of a girl's name so everyone just calls her Winny). I love the color of yours. The babies will be cute!

lol Patches squeaks constantly. Every time I open the fridge, he thinks I'm getting him a carrot or a tomato, so he'll start screeching!

So this morning, around 3, Pixie had 4 babies. Sadly, 3 were still-born

She did however have one very healthy baby. He/she has been squeaking up a storm, and bouncing all over the place! <img src="http://i.imgur.com/feWxI.jpg"; alt="http://i.imgur.com/feWxI.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

Aww, poor other three babies. I love that ones colorings though!

I have never had a hamster/guinea pig before, so I don't know how to tell the gender, otherwise I would offer help. Lol. I don't even know if you CAN tell their gender. Are you planning on selling or keeping he/she?

lol At about 4 weeks or so, you can pretty much tell the gender. Oh I'm going to keep the little guy/girl. Now to just pick out a name...this ought to take me a month,lol

Haha, are you wanting like a realistic name(Josh, Megan, etc.) or like fantasy?

I kinda like whimsical/fantasy. I was going to go with a name that started with P, because both parents, and the grandmother's names all start with P. There aren't many good P names though, none that I can think of atleast.

Sure there is! lol I've been on a "P" kick lately. Possum, Pip, and Pirate are the most recent animals that I've named. Other good P names; Patriot, Paisley, and Parker.
