So I am basicly looking to purchase a Wacom tablet because everyone is saying they work great for artistic stuff. Anywho, I was wandering, which one should I purchase? Any suggestions?
I got the bamboo, two years ago. It was awesome! -- until the pen stopped working after like the first day of use. I guess the pen is touchy, so be gentle >.< lol
Haha, okay. Just a quick question: Does it allow me to color digitally? I see you do sketches and stuff, but what about coloring? I would be using it for my line arts and if I could get a tablet to color with and sketch, it would be great!

EDIT

Also, is it wireless?

I am browsing the sight, just going slow on here 0.0
I have the pen and touch..
I've thrown, dropped, and abused the pen to hell and back..still works perfectly xD
I've dropped the tablet a few times both in and out of the box..still works great, haha.
I use it for graphics, sketching, sometimes lining (my hands shake though, so I generally use the mouse for lining), colouring, and everything else I do with art.
Okay, so I am deciding between these two:

Bamboo Capture

And

Bamboo Splash

I am Basicly looking to get the following out of it:

Sketches
Coloring Sketches
Painting Sketches
Possibly Photo-editing

I am leaning towards the Capture, but I am wandering if it would be too hard to operate. Does anyone have experiance with the Capture?
You don't need to get a wacom, I had a wacom bamboo pen, and it was great and all but i recently got a 12" tablet it wasn't a branded make but it was the same price as the wacom bamboo pen and it is like much larger and I find it easier to use for drawing things.

With any tablet you can draw and color, as long as you use something like GIMP or Photoshop.

My fiance now has my wacom pen, that if I remember correctly it was around 4" and I have the Aiptek SlimTablet 600U Premium II - Graphics Tablet at the moment.

Just shop around, the current tablet I have has been used loads in the last couple of weeks (since i only got it a while ago) and everything is still intact, though the pen feels a bit looser than the wacom pen.

Both tablets I have had, have been awesome and I haven't had any problems with either, the only thing with the wacom was that it was pretty small
Get a Wacom. Just do it. Wacom is the most trustworthy tablet company, and honestly, no matter how much cheaper it is to get the "same" size or whatever, I'd never get any brand besides. I've heard too many stories of other brands just crapping out after three months, and that just scares me. I had ONE issue with my Wacom Intuos4 and I sent it in and they fixed it for free, no questions asked. I didn't even buy it in store- I bought it online so I didn't even know if I had warranty on it.

Capture has multitouch, which is nice but totally unnecessary, for me anyway, and I don't know a whole lot about it. Splash does not.
Capture also has a wireless option, whereas Splash does not.
Capture comes with Photoshop Elements, which is great if you don't already have a copy of Photoshop. It's legal software for free. Splash does not.
The Capture also comes with some wacom photo filters. I don't know anything about photo editing, so I don't know if you'll be interested in it.

In fact, the only thing that Splash has that Capture does not is ArtRage studio, but... You're getting Photoshop Elements with Capture, so it's a small sacrifice.

All in all, of those two, I'd get Capture. Bamboo is the perfect place to start if you've never owned a tablet and don't plan to use it professionally. I started with a small Wacom Graphire3 (no longer in production, $80 when it was). I threw that thing around, bent the connection cord, chewed on the pen... Even dropped a lit match on it once, and melted a small spot on the front. Worked like it was still brand new.

My husband upgraded me to a medium Wacom Intuos4 (You can get one new now for $150-$300, but it was closer to $500 at the time I did not approve) three or four years ago. It's a much higher grade tablet and I'd never go back despite how stubborn I was to use it. It has spoiled me rotten.

When shopping for tablet size, a small is a good place to start. Medium is awesome, but it's really not.. desk size. At least not for me, but I sit on the floor and use an end table as my computer space. My tablet has to sit on my lap. There is no reason to get larger than a medium unless you're a professional working in a studio, as far as I'm concerned. xD
I think I will go for the Capture. The wireless feature will be a big improvement that I must have! Along with the Photoshop and Multitouch.

Just one questions, does anybody no the difference between Photoshop Elements and ArtRage?
Def go for the capture. I have the same one and it works wonders, although it doesnt do photo editing. But, it comes with photoshop elements8 so thats good. PM me if you have any questions! or if you wanna see me draw and how it works pm meh.
Wetnose, what exactly do you mean by "it doesn't do photo editing"? xD I don't really understand that. -confused-

I -think- that artrage is a program that tries to imitate traditional drawing medias. Watercolor, pencil, etc. However, I could be wrong. If I'm thinking of the right program, I don't think it supports transparency(though that could have been an older version), so I'd look into that.
I have the capture and it works really good (even though I rarely use it). And it actually does do photo editing. Photoshop elements is also good but I find it easier to draw on gimp or sketchbook pro (that is me though).
Yeah. I mean, you can photo edit with a mouse, like Kazuko said. A tablet is the same thing as a mouse, you just have a different type of control and whatnot.
