• I laughed at that scene... at the absurdity of it all. I didn't think any of the scenes were to 'gruesome', I like when they show everything. It's annoying when people sit there after a movie is over, and I'm trying to get out of the aisle.. like seriously, another showing isn't about to start, get up and leave already! People here are so rude they wont even scoot over a little to let others through. What am I supposed to do, hop over the seats to get out? -__- /end rant.

Rue was cute, a very likeable character. I thought Jennifer Lawrence was totally gorge, until I saw her in an interview. Then I was like... you look better as Katniss. xD
    Goodbye old VP, hello disaster. xD
  • Personaly Rue is my favorite person besides Cinna in the move and book... Both were amazing! I mean I have some little issues like the endings didnt match up much, and they didnt tell the bread story as well as i think they did in the book. And honestly I think I cried when I was waiting for Katniss to get her bread from 11 and never did, that was a huge let down. I feel the bread and the story behind it is just as important as the mockingjay pin and I believe its the bread and butter of the story (sorry for the bad pun).
I have noticed alot of people are having issues with the color of Thresh, Rue and Cinna's skin... i think thats just dumb and to me that show the didnt really read the books well. In the books it points it out, Even when Katniss vists district 11 in the second book when she sees thresh and rue's family it is stated... I think the people complaining how "it killed the story' or 'Ruined rues death making it not as sad' are just complaining to complain and are looking to bash what they know will hit hard with other people.

Thats what i think anyways...
One thing I cannot stand is when people ask me questions during a movie that we are BOTH seeing for the first time. During THG my mother kept asking me random questions and I was like, "Were watching the SAME movie, ma, I don't know anymore then you do!!"

My sister drives me insane doing this!!!

And I -loved- the character of Rue but Peeta's still my favorite so far(;

Possibly going to see THG on Wednesday!!! =D Sooo excited!!!

Thresh and Rue are both dark-skinned. It says so in the book, like nala said.

I think I had the most issue with Cinna cause it never really mentioned that he had darker skin and I imagined that he would be kind of eccentric with random hair colors and my boyfriend asked me a very good question the other day and it was 'Do you image all people in books to be white' and I was like, yea I do actually, and I don't know why. But he does the same. And I can't see any reason why I should think like that, half the people in my high school were colored and most people in my university are colored. So I don't know why I think like that I just do. And it wouldn't surprise me if more people were the same. And I know some people would call me a racist for saying that, but I don't think that's true as I take people how they are, not by how they look.

They never said Cinna was colored? That's how I always imagined him. As far as Rue and Thresh go, they took me by surprise but they did a fabulous job playing their part and when I look back, they are described as colored people. I also imagined all the characters but Cinna white. I thinks it's because when you think of raggity, sad, poor people that is just what comes to mined, for me.

  • I don't think they did, if they did, I probably skipped over it, as I have a terrible habit of reading too fast so skipping out less important things about character descriptions..

I can under stand this cause as i was reading about the Capitol people i thought of color not as race but as in color. And though of them as like red and blues and greens for skin colors almost doll like or like my little ponys where they are one color their hair is another and they have designs all over.

  • My husband and I saw the movie the other day. It was okay, but they left out way too much of what made the series decent, in my opinion. They clearly geared it to the middle-school/high-school audience. Also, not enough Cinna. :|

  • I FINALLY GOT TO GO SEE IT!!!!! Epic. Although, not as good as the book. Still great. But it made me sad that Cato had to die like that because I love Alexander Ludwig =P But I didn't like the mutts. They just looked like giant Pitt Bulls to me... And I also didn't like that she didn't get the mockingjay pin from Madge because Madge is in Catching Fire alot so I don't know how they're going to put her in there.
