Just Breathe.

I've been to all of three funerals in my lifetime, and all three have been family members that have suffered lung cancer. My great grandmother, the one I knew the best and the one I was closest to, passed away on February 23rd, 2009, and I was devastated. About a year ago I got a <a href="http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/Sea-Oats/Mobile Uploads/IMG00191-20110408-1819.jpg&quot; target="_blank" class="bb-url">tattoo</a> on my rib cage, in memory of her. I always thought it needed something more, something to make it personal.<br><br>They say when you lose someone, you begin to see things. Not hallucinations, but living things or strange, out of the ordinary objects that are said to be the one you lost, back to look after you. My Grammy liked to knit, crochet, paint, you name it, she did it. Her thing was butterflies. She loved them. And I don't care where I am, how cold or hot it is outside, I see little yellow butterflies year round. I've seen them fly over highways, over the beach, at the lake, on my car, they're everywhere. So that's when I knew what I would add to it. I got my little yellow butterfly yesterday. <3<br><br><img src="http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/Sea-Oats/42decdb8-1.jpg"; alt="http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc40/Sea-Oats/42decdb8-1.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

    I'm not a fan of tattoos, I don't mind other people having them though I always wonder why. In this case, I think it's absolutely a perfect tattoo, something to remind you or someone you love.

    Thank you, Vampy. Describing it as 'stunning' really made me feel good. xD<br><br>And Bama, obviously I don't have any opposition to tattoos, as I have two of them, but I do agree with you that I always wonder why people get some of the things they have. I think a tattoo with no meaning is stupid, you shouldn't get something so permanent just because you felt like it. I have this one and one on my hip, three stars, which I got with my mom. It's supposed to represent that it's only ever been just my mom, my sister and I, and that's all we'll ever need when things get tough.

    vi, this is a beautiful tattoo, and i love the story behind it. i think tattoos and their owners' stories are just so interesting to hear about. :3 it's beautiful, really, it's gorgeous. <3
