xD thats for sure! A lot of it has to do with him being my first. He's my first horse, plus he's the first horse ive ever trained from the ground up completely. And also i feel like i have a lot to make up for with him. Around here, registered horses are a dime a dozen but the thing is theyre not worth anything. Sure they have pedigrees but people never show the parents, they never handle or haul the foals, the never do any research into the foals at ALL. With Ro, before he was bred a did a lot of background and temperment checks with BOTH of his parents. He isnt registered but his conformation is stunning compared to MANY registered horses ive seen around here. So then conformation... check. The next thing is he's got a stellar attitude. Ive seen registered horses who ride like mules. Half the horses i know dont know how to halter, or lift up feet, or load. So Ro does all THAT with ease. And not only can I do it... i had a 6 year old catch him in the pasture earlier today and load him in the trailer by himself. Check two for my guy. Plus how he moves, and how sweet he is, and how he never spooks at ANYTHING. Plus with his color, and if i get his mane and tail long. And i intend to have him broke with the same manners as he has on the ground. So if i were ever FORCED to sell him (which he'll be the last to go if i ever get in that situation) the not only does the little girl want the pretty prancy spotted pony with the long mane and tail, but dad would rather have the well minding none registered horse thatll keep his daughter safe over the registered horse that doesnt know ANYTHING. Since he DOESNT have papers, im making up for it in every way i possibly can. <br><br>Plus in the future i plan on owning a breeding ranch, and Ro is gonna be my main mount. So i expect him to mind. I dont play with bad attitudes and he knows it.
xD i am too! My mom gets made because if i see a horse thats markings are even slightly similar to his ill point him out and tell her thats what Ros gonna look like in the future. She's pretty annoyed with me ;D

<br><br>Its not that i dont like the color... its that im OCD when it comes to brushing horses and it takes me 30 minutes longer to brush him than any of the others because the white hairs get on the colored hairs and it looks like he wasnt even brushed!!! *eyetwitch*<br><br>I love braiding him with that white in his mane! He always has swirled braids! I love em!<br><br>Aaand DEFINITALLY has a personality. He's got two really spitfire parents and he's always accepted me as "herd leader" so he gives me a lot of respect but like any colt sometimes he tries to push it a little far, especially if i give him a few days or so without handling him. Then he likes to really try to push his weight around and i have to set him straight. He isnt scared of anything though. He's gung ho to do whatever i ask of him.

Welp, today is Ro's FIRST birthday! I gave him some treats today and got photos but due to the internet not working on my computer you guys will have to wait until tomorrow for them Dx

Sooo i know i was supposed to put up pictures for Ro's birthday but i never did. But... Ro went under the knife today and is now a gelding. Vet called and said that he's up and eating. He also had his wulf teeth removed while we were at it and im picking him up and bringing him gome tomorrow.
Thanks xD He should be huge by the time he's done. He's already close to 15 hh (last time i checked) so i have no doubts he's gonna be quite large xD He's got a brother or sister overdue also! Out of a pali mare by the same daddy. Im ready to ride him though i doubt ill do much before he's three.. might not start his training even then. Im cautious with him O-o
Won't harm him getting lots of ground work in, lunging with a saddle etc or walking around in a bridle (with or without a bit depending on how you plan to ride him) XD<br><br>But taking him for walks around farms/trails are very helpful. Maybe even a bit of long lining him (driving him on the ground), will get him used to the pressure that will be applied to the mouth/bit (again depends if you want to use a bit etc) =D<br><br>Good to control a horse from the ground before you sit on him!
oh gosh no! Im definitally not rushin into riding him. He actually does all that already (minus the bit. Dont feel hes ready for one)He's got REALLY good groundwork and were gonna keep working at it xD
