So.. some of you may remember my passion for photography.. well.. it's grown even more x] I bought a SLR camera on my birthday as a sort-of self bought birthday present and for my trip to Nepal I had in April. I got the Nikon D3000 with a basic 18-55mm lens

I'm very happy with it though I would like a 300mm or so lens

Anyway; here's just a very small sample of the moments I managed to capture! The full set also contained bright images of a young girl loving the bear to add contrast to these 'dark' images. The Teddy bear I took and turned inside out, re-sewing parts and re-creating the toy. The concept behind it was to challenge the limits in which the mind can accept something altered from normality, so in particular, can you still love this bear like you would a normal one? <a href="http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss170/clozobozo/DSC_0952.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Bark</a> <a href="http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss170/clozobozo/DSC_0925.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Personal Favourite</a> <a href="http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss170/clozobozo/DSC_0907.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Bars</a> <a href="http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss170/clozobozo/DSC_0885.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Bear-Feet</a> <a href="http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss170/clozobozo/DSC_0875.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Broom-Broom</a> I managed to score a mark of 47/50 for this set

was very proud. No unfortunately I am not in contact with any horses $:\$ apart from the horses in the paddock next to my school.. but.. well.. they're not the most exciting beauties..

Woah sorry got confused as to who was saying what sorry xD Well some basic ones; - Know your camera. Fiddle with all the settings and know its limits, strengths and weaknesses! You'll be suprised at what you may find.. - Learn the rule of thirds. Now its not an actual rule you must obey every photograph, but its certainly a handy thing to have in the back of your mind. - Don't be afraid to whip the image out on photoshop and tweak the colours/contrast/brightness etc. Some photos mightn't look the best naturally but after some adjustments, like turning them black and white, they can look stunning. If you don't have photoshop, try an online photo editor. - Don't be self-conciouss when taking the photos, this is my main weakness haha. I get scared that people are judging me when I do bizarre things to get the right angle and such... so often I give in and just stop. It's a bad habit I'm trying to break without much success. - The flash isn't always your best friend. This is more of my opinion but yeah, I passionately dislike the flash for numerous reasons and resort to it only when absolutely nessecary..

Thanks! It recieved a Highly Commended award at an art festival

I love the actual teddy more than the photos however aha

They're certainly one of the best for me! One of the horses is very old... like ancient. It's very skinny and run down despite the owners obvious efforts to provide the best for it. Then there's 2 gorgeous fit and healthy geldings but they're in the far paddock.. The other 2 are average, almost always have their coats on and hide in the trees. I might ask a friend if I can visit their stable and do some photographing of her horses..

I get self conscious when people look at me weird when i take pictures in public.. >.> lol thanks for the tips!! +D I LOVE taking photos and everyone tells me im good at it haha i May post a few of mine for you to critique if you don't mind

Sometimes I wish I could pause time and just run around like crazy taking photos just how I want to.. but.. alas... xD Do it! I'd love to see what epic moments you've managed to capture

oooo very nice! Typically landscape photo's always have a perfectly level horizon line, but I never have a problem with going against normality haha. The guard rail, or whatever it is in the lower right hand corner, distracts the eye a little bit, but not enought to ruin the photograph

Yea we were in a moving jeep and it was already behind us so i had to turn around in the seat n hold my phone out the window with a puppy in my lap xD it was difficult! LOL!

Lol, it seems alot of times when I really need my camara I forgot it. :x But I made sure to take it when I went to look at a horse I might buy!
