My Horses :D *update last post!*

Hello there!

Alright! Friday, I took Creole home with us! I did my first ride at their barn, but these pictures are after I got him home.
Notice, I have boots on that are too big, my feet are WAY too far in my stirrups because they are on the balls of my feet, but my boots were too big.
My actual boots that I usually wear (black english show boots) were caked in mud and I was too lazy to wash em off, so I grabbed mom's old boots.
I'm still getting used to him, his head isn't tucked very well, I'm not used to his movement.

So here's Creole!
<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c04.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c04.png"; class="bb-image" />

<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c02.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c02.png"; class="bb-image" />

Haha, check out Georgia rolling around in the background!
<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c01.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c01.png"; class="bb-image" />

<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c03.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c03.png"; class="bb-image" />

And here's Georgia!
<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c05.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/c05.png"; class="bb-image" />

Gamby was at the vet, I'm having one heck of a time getting pictures of him!

This is me with Champ, one of my first ponies ^.^
I'm about 8 or 9 in this pic, I was a chubby child XD
<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/a01g.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/a01g.png"; class="bb-image" />

and this is me with Leah, one of my other first ponies.
I'm probably about 9 in this picture XD
<img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/a01h.png"; alt="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/Quiggles_101/a01h.png"; class="bb-image" />
Creole is a thoroughbred/warmblood/quarter cross.
Georgia is an Arabian/quarter cross (with possibly something else in there, we are quite sure)
Gambie is a Palomino. (I'm having one heck of a time getting pictures of him! He's at the vet.)
I'm not sure what Champ and Leah were though. I'll have to check.

In the third picture, my aunts horse, Kindle, is in the backrground. As well as Georgia who is rolling around
I ride English and Western, but mostly English. I do a lot of jumping and dressage.

We just recently built this outdoor arena. It's in the same spot at the old one, but we completely remade it ^.^
Thank you!
His back leg has been lame for a while and it wasnt healing as quickly as we thought so he's at the vet getting everything checked out. He is in a special cast because his knee buckled and it's just easier if he stays there until he heals since my vet is kind of far away.

  • Thats awesome! Is it hard to jump?

  • Thats awesome! Is it hard to jump?
Not so much hard then it is scary, especially when you first start. For example Georgia will spook easy so sometimes she stops short of a fence and I end up on the ground. It's all about anticipation and trust with the horse.
So I don't think it's hard but it can be a little scary especially if you aren't comfortable with the horse or the fence.

  • I see. I want to learn but I only have ever ridden Western so I think it will be harder for me to learn. What do you think? You should put up pictures of you in shows in Dressage and jumping sometime (: If I were to learn to jump would you give me some tips?

  • I think jumping would be fun But I always worry about the horse (should it fall or something)
Yeah, thats why I am kinda nervous about it too and also things like Barrel Racing I am afraid to go faster then a canter around them incase they were to get hurt but my coach assured me that they should not get hurt if you know how to ride properly and have warmed them up first.
You could learn :) anyone can! The thing with English and western is that a lot more balance is needed with English riding (in some cases) you probably need a good 2 years of English experience before you try jumping.
I dot have any pictures of me in shows and I don't do proper shows in the summer so when my next fall show round comes I'll try to get some pictures.
I'd love to give you advice ^.^
It's tons of fun ^.^
I've never had a horse fall, but I've fallen plenty if times over jumps. Sometimes the horses hit the rail and trip but it's rare they fall. It takes a lot of training for both horse and rider to do jumps safely and correctly.

  • Awesome! I will have to buy my own English saddle if I want to learn probably cause Ben wouldnt be riding in it! LOL About how mush is the cheapest a good one would cost about now?
Awww poor thing :( Gambie's isn't too serious, but he has quite a recovery ahead of him.
    robanner_zps46f75ebe.png
  • Well, that's good :) Best of luck to Gambie! Let me know how he does?

Lol, we have lots of horses that are in some way lame. We've got Doc, the one with the ivicular, Skittles who has bad arthritis, Buddy who's over in the knee, and many more d: My ranch is like a rescue, lol. Unfortunantly, the lesson mare has fluid in her cannon, so she's being a pasture horse for now d:
I will :)
Aw poor horses :( Gambie is getting old so we were surprised that he has had so few health problems.
I hope your horses have good recoveries :)
    robanner_zps46f75ebe.png
  • Yays :) How old is he? Well, that's great! :) Hopefully, no more injuries or illness' for him! :)

Thank you :) Most of our horses are old and won't recover, not because they're not treated right, but because most of the problems are permanent d:
He's almost 28.
Aw, I understand.
Yeah but he's in really good condition.
I rode him up to last summer, so he is officially retired. Which is why we made the decision to get Creole.
Georgia is about 12.
    robanner_zps46f75ebe.png
  • Just thought I would give an update!

Creole is doing well! I finally got to lunge him while trying to balance on crutches, haha. My aunt has been working with him since i can't ride with my ankle.
Georgia is still a brat XD and Gambie is doing better. He has to do some physical therapy to make him a bit stronger before he can come home :(
The lady from the barn who wanted me to work there accepted me even in my injured state XD
I got a tour of the barn and I am going to be giving beginners lessons until my ankle heals.
    robanner_zps46f75ebe.png
  • Awesome! Im glad you got the job! Get better stupid ankle! LOL. You could always have someone help you on a horse and ride bareback in a pasture or something at like no more then a trot lol. If I were you I would be out there all the time breaking the rules...and probably my ankle again lol. You should see if you can go bareback or without sturrips though (;
