Okay so J.K. Rowling's announcement about Harry Potter was just released this morning. Ive been watching the countdown since it began, counting as more and more owls-and branches-appeared on the page. Until there were over 30 owls at my last count. Our only hint had been to watch the owls, and that we did.

I woke up and watched the announcement less than an hour ago, and as many had guessed, the announcement was in fact, about Pottermore. "Pottermore is a free-to-use website that will feature "extensive new material about the characters, places and objects in the much-loved stories," all written by Rowling. It sounds like the vast majority, if not all of this material, is intended to supplement the "Potter" stories as they already exist, rather than create brand new stories all unto themselves. In other words, this appears to be Rowling's long awaited "Potter" encyclopedia, but in an online and interactive form."

Pottermore fully launches in October 2011, with registration opening on July 31st, Harry's birthday!! That day will also feature an online challenge rewarding the first million people to register with early beta-testing access to Pottermore. [One of those million SHALL be me! ^-^]

For now, the web page that will be Pottermore looks good, and you can watch J. K. Rowling's announcement. But many of the links dont work properly, you cant change the language and I was not able to register my email like it says you should be able to. But nevertheless, here is <a href="
