You may choose any species and any breed. You must research and/or write about key points on the chosen animal. If you like a specific breed, what type of real life activities was it bred for? What does it do well in? If you like a specific species as a whole, what is it's purpose? What are some neat facts? Length is entirely up to you. Do not just copy and paste random articles together.<br><br>
<br><br>You can research any animal species. If it's a dog breed, detail the breed and such. If it's a different species, like the Harris' Hawk, you'd detail their appearance, size, and other facts about them (size of prey, type of prey, habitat, etc.).

<br>The Masai Giraffe, alternatively named the Maasai or Kilimanjaro Giraffe, is the largest subspecies of giraffe and the tallest land mammal on earth. Unlike the more commonly known reticulated giraffe, the Masai can be distinguished by its darker, irregular spots that resemble oak or maple leaves. The dominant male of the herd sports darker spots than the others. The closest relative of the giraffe is the okapi.<br><br>Uniquely, giraffe fur is naturally coated in antibiotics and parasite repellants, which gives the animals a strange scent. Because of their long necks giraffes must maintain approximately two times the blood pressure of other large mammals in order to maintain bloodflow to the brain. Giraffes have a specialized system of valves and thick skin that allows them to regulate their bloodflow when they lower their heads, preventing them from passing out. Their hearts weigh about 25 pounds and their lungs have a capacity of 12 gallons.
