buying things, VHR style

Okay. I was thinking this yesterday and last night. I think it would be a great idea to be able to buy particular things in VPs.

a) fame points, for lets say $9-15 you can buy 500-5000 fame points. I am not sure on the price or the number, but it'd be good for those that want fame points to either speed up waiting for new sponserships to train with, or just to simply boost fame.

b) ability to purchase personalized colorations. In the gift dyes, if you made one coloration [black brindle for example] anyone could come around and make another black brindle dog. But with personalized gifts [$9 in VHR] that color is YOUR coloration alone and no one can make an extra. So if you purchased a color [silver with black hints] no one else would be able to make silver with black hints. Purchased dyes SHOULD work on one-color dogs [Chinook, dalmations, etc].

c) ability to purchase VP cash... $12 or something like that for 2-3 million VP.

d) ability to purchase clubs. These clubs are not allowed to host extra events since well that is what the specality kennels can do. Also, possibly have a limit to how many dogs a "purchased" club can have a members, while the specality kennel that gets clubs has an unlimited number of members.

e) ability to purchase "back" kennels. WoS suggested that all sponser kennels should have these, but what if you don't want them and/or you want more than one back kennel.

f) ability to purchase an actual dog breed not in the game. I was thinking about this and gave it careful consideration. In this case, what if you purchased let's say a Flat-coated Retreiver but in two months, Nef adds that breed to the game.
I was thinking, with the ability to purchase an actual breed it should have like a brand [*HMK*/Delta Flat-coated Retreiver] so that everyone knows that is your particular breed.
Or if you purchase an actual breed, insteading of branding it yours, you get to pick a number of particular colors for your particular "type" of the breed which are yours alone.

g) ability to purchase extinct/fictional/fantasy breeds. I wouldn't mind being able to purchase a "Werewolf" or a Russian Black Wolf [giant timber wolf variety now long "extinct" {can't remember if it actually is or just very rare}] or possibly a Hell-hound.

With f) and g); mainly f), I am considering the fact that there are so many breeds that people want, why should Nef really add in so many and half are not liked because people don't like them or have no clue about them in RL....

In this case, you can purchase your own breeds, and then maybe later a poll [or something] can be held on what is the most popular breeds and the best choices to add.

 • personally, I have to disagree with being able to 'buy' colors. For one thing that will cheapen the gift dogs, making them pretty worthless since anyone could go 'buy' that color. Second, those with lots of money to waste on a game will use up all the colors and if they can't be made again then someone who might have to save to splurge on something like that wouldn't be able to get the color they wanted if it had been bought by someone else first.

Also, I don't think we should have to buy a back kennel, I mean we already PAY for a sponsership that allows us unlimited dogs, a back kennel would just be a way of allowing us to have what we're already supposed to have paid for.

The other stuff I don't have a problem with because it wouldn't interest me and I wouldn't buy it even if it was available. *shrugs*

1. With the ability to buy personalized colorations it might cheapen gift colored dogs. But the fact that i asked a couple of people to make me colorations Cougar and ~~~~ brindle; they either didn't make the color or stole it for themselves which really pissed me off. :x

With the chance to buy a personalized color, at least I can make up for that by buying MY own color... and/or possibly add colors that I never made during the gift dyes.

The fact that personalized colorations should "rub off" on one-color dogs would make it possible to have dogs [such as dalmations, Chinooks, etc] to have more than one color. Simple
a) DOESN'T remove loyality
b) if there is a glitch again, you won't loose the dogs in the novice kennel
c) it's annoying to see a dozen or so dogs in your lease, but once you get used to it and know that your dogs are safe from been "rescued" on a lease [which NEF pointed out was a change on the 16th] it's worth the annoyance.

If you want a back kennel, purchase it, it is only fair to the rescue kennels that you have to purchase the back kennel since it is by right actually their opinion as a rescue kennel.

I do lease and it's a pain in the rear, not only making out the..oh, maybe 60 leases on my main sponsor account but to go through and pull the dogs I want to do things with. I also can not put a male up for stud on the account it's leased to. I had a dog on lease go to the safekeep when the glitch happen, and the lease was no longer on the owners kennel to get the dog back.

lol..which is the same if you are a training kennel, but we're expected to 'juggle' our dogs to train.

 • ok here's the deal, we pay for UNLIMITED dogs when we buy a sponser account. We also get 10 novice kennels. each novice kennel only holds 21 dogs legally. That's not unlimited dogs, and like Jinxx said it's a PAIN in the butt to have to lease them, besides the fact with the rescues you practically have to log into all of your novice accounts every day to make sure nothing is taken from them, that would be solved by everyone having a back kennel because then sponsers would be on their kennel all the time.

What I'm saying is the coding is there, the rescues (and the boarding kennels?) get an extra kennel to hold dogs, I think it's absurd that all sponsers can't have one and we have to go and take up a lot more space with 10 or more novice accounts (depending on how many sponsers we own).

There would be NO loyalty loss whatsoever if you had a back kennel (well if it was worked that way anyway) because you wouldn't be moving to a different kennel, just putting dogs back out of the way so you can train/breed.

And you wouldn't have a lease page that's a mile long either, which on days when lots of people are on this game takes FOREVER to load even on fast dsl.

Rescues and boarding kennels could maybe have two back kennels, one personal one and one for whatever they are.

But paying extra for what we should have already is ridiculous.
 • I dont like the idea of buying Personilized colours Well because people go too far with with colours

 • I really dont wanna see the color frenzzy on VHR move here, what I like(d) with VP was that it was no green and polka dotted pups around, the colors used to be realistic on here, still are to some extent plus as mentioned before what if someone payed for a color and put it on a lets say Coonhound, and then that color cant ever be on any other type of dog and maybee the color never occurs in coonhounds but is found naturally in some other breed, then that breed that should have that color will never be able to at all... no dont want that...

 • Personally, I think creating new colours for dogs is moronic. Honestly. If you don't like the colour your breed comes in, then why the hell have it?

Not every color for every breed is represented on VP. Unfortunately, there's probably not going to be anyone to police what colors will be realistic/breed standard.

 • I didn't and still don't like the gift colors either. I would have prefered a surprise (realistic) color that was added to the rare colored list of the breed I chose to be my gift. Others may get the color.. big deal, it's a new color that was added to the game by the game owner/creator. Now rare colored list dogs are undesirable because most would rather have an incredibly rare gift colored dog that may not even be an existing color for the SPECIES of the animal. There are already Black, Pure Black, All Black etc.. why make MORE black? It all looks the same to me when I picture it in my head, I don't understand why branching a new color off an existing color would make it rare when it is basically the same thing. Sorry if I am being too critical.. I mean my thoughts probably wont even matter since I'm a lowly Novice :P I just feel the games realism factor is slowly becomming non-existant. Maybe I like too much realism(?).. well regardless, what I say here wont matter.
well then we are 2 :!: I like my games real so I only made real variations on colors already existing in breeds :D

 • Realism is good. However, I don't think color is as big a deal in either direction. It really shouldn't have any play in showing except if added to conformation. I'd rather have folks with pink Labs than dogs with 500+ stats. At least I can totally avoid the color.

 • I don't see the point in having gift colored dogs, I mean whats the point in playing this game if its not real, I mean would you want your dogs offspring to be Purple Striped with Pink it gets me all mad when someone breeds my dogs with gift colors. I'd prefer rare AKC colors
 • ::cough::It's a game, people will play however they what to, no matter how much others don't like it::cough::

Seriously though, I've played since the game opened back in August, it's just a game. Some people are taking it way too seriously; one has even gone as far as saying another players dogs should be SHOT because they were worthless and bringing down the breed.

I personally have made several "Non-AKC: gift dogs, I don't sell my dogs, and I don't overbreed. You'll probably never even SEE one of my dogs. What's the big deal. You can't control what happens, so why gripe about it?

I have to admit though, some people go over-board, like the "White (Blind & Deaf)" colored dogs, or the "Leathal White" horses on VHR, but for the most part, nothing's out of hand.
