• Kind of... It depends on the person...

Do I think YOU were overworked? Yeah. Someone with asthma shouldn't be forced to run a mile :/ I have asthma too, and my stepmom back in Connecticut made me join cross country, then would yell at me for quiting while I was heaving on the track.

Just my opinion, lol.
Is quiting due to no time, anyone can contact me at my nonpersonal email coconaur@aol.com
  • I don't necessarily think you were being overworked, but if you are feeling sick after running, then try to slow down. 10 min and 13 seconds sounds like you finished a little early, but the required times might be different where you live. Also, make sure you communicate with your coach/instructor if you are having difficulty due to asthma. Legally they have to provide reasonable accommodation for asthma if your parents have submitted a doctor's note that confirms you have it, and need accommodation.
The kids that got an extra lap added for each class they were failing sound like they were overworked, and it doesn't sound fair to dish out punishment like that, but I guess it depends on your school's policies. I personally think getting those kid's help for their classes would be a better alternative than unproductive punishment.

Routine paced running, walking, swimming, and other aerobic exercises are actually recommended to people with asthma, because it strengthens the lungs, and immune system. Omitting the school-wide required exercise, which generally isn't that much, for kids with asthma could actually hurt their health more than help them out.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
