Camera.....HELP

I have wanted to get a Nikon D3000 for months and months, I finally have $350 saved up and my dad may pay the rest. I went to walmart to drool and found a cannon for the same price- i forget the model but... What to do? Which one is better and why?

    Ah I had the same debate! I myself decided on a Cannon camera, but I looked both models up, or ones in the same class, I don't know if i can say this, but on consumer reports- they are an independent company that test and rate every and anything. I usually find the magazine at the library. I compared both models for the features I wanted, and I went for the more compact, with the most mega pixels. Good luck! Make sure to post some cool pix!

    I am getting a Nikon but I do not know which model is better the D3000 or the D3100, I'm unsure that there is much a difference besides $200 difference, explain what you mean by the "megapixels don't matter"?

It looks super fancy, but really, any modern camera has enough MP for anything.<br><br>If you want to know further why I say that, you can read that article above.     I am getting the D3000 tomorrow.... I talked to my computer teacher (whom i have a good relationship with) and she said that she bought the model I want... So that confirmed it for me... THanks for the comments
