Baby rat, gone.

I only had her for a little over two weeks. I fed her and my other three rats the exact same thing, and the baby is the only one that died. I've researched good and bad foods for rats, I checked on her every day, she'd acted fine. A lively, hyper, semi-skittish, normal baby rat. Today I opened the fridge and grabbed peas for the girls. I fed them to Angel, Dizzy, and Jenny, my three adult rats. I moved on to the second cage where baby Echo stays by herself (she's too little to be with the big girls, she could escape through the bars and certainly can't defend herself if the older girls picked on her). I didn't see her, which was odd, she likes when I go up to her cage and talk to her and hold her. I moved a ladder and I saw her there. ): She was such a good little girl. </3

Aww

I hate when animals die. Some people dont understand how you can get so attached to something as small as a rat, but Im sort of there right now with my hamster whos extremely sick and probably wont make it though the week. I dont know if that makes you feel any better, but you can pm me anytime if you want to talk.

It's really hard when you have no idea what happened, too. Most people don't understand the possibility of strong bonds with rodents and other small animals, true, but at least my family understands how much I do love them, and my mom comforted me when I found Echo earlier today.

I just hope Echo wasn't suffering because if she was, I wish I could've known and done something about it. ): Thanks for the support, and I hope your hamster turns out alright. <3333

Aww. That is true, my brothers ask me how I can have a bond with a rodent (my guinea pigs) . I did not really know how to answer, I just love them. And i'm sorry that happened.

I'm so sorry

I lost a rat, and I still haven't been able to get over him. If she came from the pet store, then there is a high chance she could have had a respiratory infection. You should keep an eye on all of your other girls for any symptoms. If you hold their head up to your ear, and hear a sort of raspy or sniffley noise, then you should get them to the vet.

Man that reminds me of my googly eyed black goldfish. I loved that fish, yes a fish of all things something you can't pick up and touch. Well I had a sucker fish, a tri colored goldfish, a black googly eyed goldfish, and a gold gorami. I fed them about once every three days and for that only about a pinch cause they are very small fish, babies. I had them for about three or so months. Then I go to the tank and my black googly eyed goldfish had an eye popped out. When I went to scoop him out of the tank he tried to swim away but he was swimming in a circle, missing a fin. So I had to flush my little pretty fishie.. I cried XD

if you wanna talk to,pm me im with you.my turtle died after 1 year.she looked fine but acted kinda strange.gave her all the medicine in the world that could save her. i washed the water evryday.and about 2 weeks later,she died.i was crying.{not funny!!! :evil:} shes still with me though... i miss her so much

Aww, I lost a fish yesterday i was gone for 2 days and when i got home i found him stuck in the filter i miss him so much

PrinceSushi; I always check their breathing regularily, a good rat owner that I know always tells me to hold them up to my hear and check. But thanks. (: Celtic; I've never had a real bond with a fish before. I think it's sweet that some people do. (: Wetnose; I've always wanted a turtle. It's great you took such good care of her, at least you did all you could.
