Broke the #1 Rule >.>PICS! [big pics]

Sooo I broke the number one rule of thumb at the humane society I work at...I got attached.
I am officially attached to a boxer pitbull mix named Lexus.
She is trained, calm, friendly, and loving.
OMG I want her SOOO bad.
I almost 100% sure my parents will say "absolutely not" since we have 4 dogs and 2 horses already, not to mention the numerous barn cats and my house cat. :(
but I am IN LOVE with her!
She is brindle with one blue and one brown eye.
I will post pictures soon!

GAH I WANT HER SO MUCH!!!!!

 • haha xD Lucky for me, most dogs in mine are adopted before I get to see them again.

And if they aren't, I don't do anything with them. I see dogs once and that's it, because I can't get attached. I got attached to a beagle... I saw her one week, and I was like "You'll get adopted in a few days, you're so awesome"

She was there the following week
I was like "D: Why aren't you adopted?"

Some lady walked in, literally right after i said that, and knelt next to her cage and was like "We came here to see you!" I started stalking the cage waiting to see if the "Adopted" tag went up, and I finally saw it did and I started crying xD I never thought I'd get to see one of the dogs I worked with get adopted. It was the most amazing feeling ever. She went to a home with a mom and little girl :3 it was so sweet.

But yeah, I kind of know what it feels like. I've gotten attached to two beagles (I have a thing with beagles I guess...) Skip was the first, he was there for three weeks (the longest I've seen a dog there I think) but I only took him out the first time, then I had to resist making eye contact with him because I'm overemotional xD

But, hey, you never know, they could say yes ;D If I really wanted a dog, I'd probably make up a whole report on "Why I should adopt this dog - to my mother and father who don't want me to adopt anything under their roof" XD

 • Oh! I know the feeling. I had been at the shelter for four months and I didn't fall for any of them. Then it happened. I fell for Scarlett. She was MY dog. I knew I couldn't keep her but boy did I want to. She made it a monthin the shelter and went "kennel crazy." I knew it was best for and the director agreed to euthanize her. I was a mess though. She was my dream dog, she just came at the wrong time in my life. After my Scarlett, I have yet to fall for any others. Especially other pit bulls. I've kind of put up a wall, I guess you could say. Since most APBTs don't make it out alive. I don't know. I've been at the shelter since January now. It's just something you've got to get used to.

Good luck! I hope you can get the dog.
 • I've done it too. Five times to be exact XP. I was a volunteer for a rescue group for many years so now I have 5 dogs. XP

 • She is stunning! While they don't really have the same coloring, she reminds me a lot of my Scarlett. They have the same expression and body type.

 • She's stunning congrats on your new family member. That's why I don't work in rescue I fostered once a dog came here to have her litter and ended up keeping 2 dogs the mum and one of her puppies. I would end up way too tempted to adopt them all

We didn't adopt her, I am just overly attached. Though i have tried to do some major convincing, it doesn't look promising that I will be getting her :(
