The Sims 3

A few months ago my friend gave me Sims 2. And I am addicted. But lately, I've been really wanting the Sims 3. I heard there's a lot of cool updates. Like there's more people in the town, more things to do, more realistic looking people, and you can take babies and toddlers to community lots which I wish I could do. So, what do you think?

Is the Sims 3 worth the money? Should I switch? What kind of updates are there that weren't in the Sims 2? I could either buy it now or ask for it for Christmas....is it worth the wait or should I get it now?

Please tell me! Thanks.

 • I prefer sims 3. It's a lot better in my opinion. The rest of the town ages with you and you can explore the town a lot more. There are no aspiration rewards though I do miss the elixer of life. The personality traits are good and it's easier to play
 • SIMS 3 is WAY better. Like way. Everything about it. I like the sims 2 expansions better, thats the only thing. Just an opinion but you will luv sime 3!
 • I looked at the Sims 3 thinking, oh this will be really fun and cute to play! Then I looked at the price, put it back, and walked out of Best Buy. ;D
That really doesn't answer any of the questions asked. ;D

I really liked Sims 3. xD It was much more realistic, and the graphics are awesome. There's a TON of stuff to do as well. =o I keep hoping they're gonna come out with Sims 3 Pets, but it doesn't seem like that's gonna happen. xD

 • It IS betterbut make sure you have enough memory space for it on your computer. It slows down my computer a LOT and freezes up a lot.. =( I would LOVE sims 3 pets!! xD
 • I wanna play ;_;
I got it for christmas but haven't been able to play because our computer is so old and it is at my friends house. I'll probably go over there tomorrow and sneak it back since we got a new computer and you reminded me ;D
<img src="http://i51.tinypic.com/no7dph.png"; alt="http://i51.tinypic.com/no7dph.png"; class="bb-image" />
Didn't really see any questions. Saw "Sims 3" and "money" and hit reply.

Stephen across the street has Sims 3 and the expansion packs [nearly all of them], and I remember playing the original Sims at my cousin Heather's place, and it was bad... 2D, not really a lot of things to do. Sims 3, however...it's a lot better. More fun. It'll make your computer run really slow, though, if you don't have the kind of computer for it, or if you have a slow computer.

 • Sims 1 isn't bad, it was awesome for its time. I remember waking up at 6am on a Saturday to play it on my friend's laptop (I went to a boarding school). I was so obsessed with it, and was over the moon when they brought out Sims 2.

I had Sims 3 on pre-order for 7months, because it was meant to come out in Feb around my birthday, so I was treating myself. Just for it to bloody change release date to June, I was not a happy moose. But when I got it a day before the release date I was happy once again. The one thing that bugs me most in Sims 3 is the lack of seasons. Sims 2 Seasons ep has to be the best one ever, shortly followed by Pets and Uni. Now if only Sims 3 will get those expansions will it make me extremely happy. Am hoping for a more family based ep as well, because that is what I liked most about the game, creating families and making them like 5gens long.

I pretty much pre-order every Sims base game and expansion pack. I have all of Sims 1 and Sims 2, just the stuff packs I lack because I just download custom content off the internets. So for me Sims 3 is worth the money.

 • It took me a while to get into sims 3 (for one, it didnt work on this computer, so I couldnt use it until I got my new laptop) Even then, I was kinda iffy about it because while the people can be -very- customized, it is also hard to make them look good. I FINALLY DID IT THOUGH. Just two of them, look gorgeous <3 Sims 2 was more simple, you could have them look good with a few clicks. This one, it takes a while xD

I also miss the pets D: My house(s) seem so lonely without dogs and cats running around ;; I'm sure they will make that expansion though, considering they are releasing a Night time one, which was also in the past two versions of sims.

I like it now, a lot ;D

I miss the pets too, I always got my kid to befriend the wolf XD
Craig has preordered the new EP for me =3 So I get that on the 29th, only because he bought himself F1 for the PS3 >.>

I downloaded a skin for my sims to make them that little bit more realistic, and I am always downloading things like that: hair, eyes, make up etc. They had really good ones for the Sims 2 :/

 • I had the pets but it was my friends and I had to give it back for her to re-download it. However it ruined her game somehow and made it crash, we tried for so long to uninstall her game but it wouldn't work. So now I'm afraid to put the pets game back on mine because I don't want it crashing my game. I don't really miss the pets and probably won't when I get sims3. I love making families and having the kids grow up and get married and have their own children.

Yeah, I think Sims 3 just needs more time for people to make stuff for it. I've used half my starter points just DLing better hair for them xD I'm obsessed with hair ;-; Bought some new outfits for the girls, too, because Im obsessed with dresses xD But other than that, I havent found much. The player made stuff is glitchy. I downloaded some guy with a-mazing hair, but the hair didnt work, just his face >.<

 • You know something that took me awhile to get.
From Sims2 University I thought Young Adult were like College age, so I was wondering why Adults had short-ish time until they were elders, and I was all "how will I get there goals fulfilled in time", but then I realised Young Adults were pretty much the same as Adults, just gives you more time.

[/end random Sims3 thought/rant thing]
<img src="http://i51.tinypic.com/no7dph.png"; alt="http://i51.tinypic.com/no7dph.png"; class="bb-image" />

 • There are young adults in sims 3? Cool, sims 2 only has babies, toddlers, children, teens, adults and elders. There are so many new things! I can't wait to get it and explore it for myself.

Actually there are young adults in the sims 2, but you need the university expansion I believe. And I don't think you can CREATE young adults, they have to be teenagers and go off to college/university to become one... kind of lame. xD
