Best way to remove a tick?

The things gross me out -_-<br>And I dont have much experience removing ticks anyways, this is only the second one my cat has got... and the first one was never this big so was pretty simple to grip with tweezers.<br>This on is freaking HUGE .. I can only just fit the tweezers over it.. and I think if I actually close the tweezers to grip, I might actually crush things body.. something I know I must not do x.x<br><br>So any other methods rather than the usual tweeze and pull?

    If the cat is a quiet kind, you can try putting a hot ember, like from a blown out match or cigarette against the tick's body and that might make it back out. Can also try suffocating it with baby oil or vegetable oil. I've also removed them by bathing the animal with flea and tick shampoo and they'll brush out then.

    <br><br>My cat is pretty quite but I think if I was to take anything hot near her she will freak. She's been afraid of flames/hot things ever since she managed to walk over a candle while younger.<br>The oil I might try, I've read it a few times on a few websites.<br>Bathing my cat is a no go -_- she mauls you if you take her near water.<br>I've also been told to use rubbing alcohol, so I might try that too.<br><br>If everything eventually fails I'm just going to have to take a trip to the vet... my bank account wont like that x.x

    My chewie was COVERED in them when he was a stray. They were the giant, fat, white ones that were filled so full with blood, they'd fall off from either the weight or from being full or something. REALLY gross, I can't even tell you. So we just used tweezers, grabbed the head and crushed it. It's disgusting... I know, but you wouldn't wanna pet your cat with one of those guys hiding in its fur xD however, don't grab the body - just the head. Because I've heard you can separate the head from the body and it will still hang on and suck blood (though I have no clue how that's possible)<br><br>Good luck!

    If you get it off and the head is still alive, burn or drown it. Ive had so many of those things on me. I dont know why they exsist. I hate them too :|
