• I'm pretty sure Alabama said somewhere that it wasn't against the rules. I can't remember where though :?
    143 I La-la-la-love you [:
  • It isn't against the rules to buy, neuter, and release/retire. It's just a matter of opinion of the rescue kennel, but you're certaintly not banned from doing that.

  • Ok good, I was freaking out cause I was afraid I'd get banned or suspended from VP.

Thanks both of you! ;)

Mo
:)

  • It's not against the rules at all. Those are player made rules, and they aren't allowed. Once you've bought rights to the dog, you can do absolutely whatever you want with it. Ignore anyone that wants to yell at you for it, and if they continue to harass you or spread malicious rumors(such as an announcement through the bark park), then send a ticket in, so the admins can inform the individual about the rules.
I'm done with VP. I'll just be around until I get all my dogs and lines placed in good hands. If you want to contact me, please do so through deviantART.
  • Yeah, you buy it, you do with it what you want.

I release/retire a lot as well. I had someone ask me why I was "killing" dogs before... yes. I'm destroying virtual bits of computer data =O How horrid of me.
All good things must come to an end. All endings will begin new good things.

  • Lol same. I actually had a breeder yell at me once for wanting to release the line dogs I did not need. xD. I was like... My dogs I can do as I like.

  • I can't imagine having nothing better to do with my time than watch people I don't know's kennels like a hawk to see if they release a dog, and have the links up so I know when it stops being in game.

Really, people. Really? xD

  • Very frustrating. Can I go back in and buy more dogs from the person and release/retire it without getting in trouble since they already told me not to buy their dogs??

I don't think I will otherwise I'll be acting like a rude jerk, but I'm just wondering.

Thanks!
Mo
:)

  • You definitely can - Player Made Rules are not enforced by VP staff, and once you put a dog up for sale you have no control over who buys it or what they do with it, as it is no longer your property. If you want to control who buys your dog, put it up for bid. I 100% support you buying them out xD

  • I want to cause I can make a profit off of it, but I don't want people to think I'm a mean player. :?
    2woehap.png
  • A mean player...I'm sure a lot of everyone has done something a little jerky but buying low priced dogs that aren't neutered and will eventually breed into more...useless understatted to release? I'm sure that makes up for it.

  • You have a sense of realism, Mo. These aren't dogs. These are packets of data. It's only housekeeping.
    seaoats_insanityban.png
  • Ok, I'll do it I guess.

Thanks!

Mo
:)

  • If a person has dogs up for public sale or rescue, once you pay the price, the dog is yours to do with as you please. Release and retire to your heart's content. If they bother you about it, put them on ignore, if they harass you from another account, report them through the ingame support link found beneath fame points and a kindly Op will explain the situation to them.

Unfortunately for some, even if a private sale is made, unless it's in messages that both parties agree to the terms of the sale, once a person buys a dog, they can do as they please with it.

You cannot be banned for releasing your own dogs and since you now own them, they are yours, not the previous owners'.
