Horse shows

edited May 2010 in Vent
uck im getting so irritated with these horse shows, all these kids that come in with there big name trainers think there the best and they can do what ever they want. They go around cutting people off, rideing up other horses butt's and so on. Its just so irritateing and there trainers dont see a thing even when they see there kids doing these things.

I almost got thrown from my horse becuase a stupid palomino horse rode up my horses butt. ( now my horse hates other horses being next to him but never doesn anything other then pin his ears) but this horse was like rideing up my horses but like you could barely fit a piece of paper between them.

anyways he started crow hopping and im rideing english, well i havnt really ridden english for a year and this was like teh 2nd time this horse had ever been ridden english. I lost my balence and almost fell off. The stupid kid ended up winning the class.

I swear no one has any areana manners any more. Now i admit cutting off happens once and a wile on accident. But when its always the same people from the same trainers it becomes irritateing.

 • Ugh. I.Hate.That.

I especially hate when no one calls "line" when warming up in jumping. It drives me insane. I always call lin, even far before I take a jump. example..."Line! After the bay!" So all the other riders know which horse I'm after so they don't cut in front.

It irks me when people cut me off :x

 • i dont do jumping but if people cut me off in the middle of trying to jump that would make me even more angrier.
 • OMG, not too long ago, my sister was jumping in the arena. Now there was this other lesson going on, and the kid is really stupid [i will tell you why in a minute] and he rode his horse across the center of the arena, and just had his horse walk RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE JUMP. and then he basically stopped. like it wasnt bad enough that he had to walk in front of the jump my sister was cantering up to, but he couldnt move out of the way. Luckily, my sister stopped her horse and didnt crash.

At my stable, when you enter the arena and there is anyone else in there, you say "Door!" to alert everyone your coming in [the door in is pretty loud, horses spook at it, gotta alert them]. So I was having a lesson on this enormous green TB ex-racer that is insane. I was cantering on him, and then that boy just quietly RAN in, right through my path. How good the kid miss a huge black horse thundering towards him? Miraculously, Beau took notice of my STOP CANTERING signals for once, and stopped feet away from the child. and guess what his teacher said. "NAME, honey, watch out for oncoming traffic," and the kid scurried off. No apologizing or anything.
