This gorgeous little girl has been at the shelter for over 3 yrs. She is a purebred Lhasa Apso. She is completely blind and deaf, and is about 13 yrs. old. She was dropped off at a local shelter before being given to one of our no-kill shelters. I have met her once before, when I was getting my cat Alex. She is just a big ol' sweetheart. And I think she deserves a good relaxing home, filled with nothing but love for the rest of her days. Her rehoming fee is $100 USD, however, but they said that they would wave the fee, because I am giving her a good loving, forever home. 2 of my friends also adopted 2 dogs from them, so they know us pretty well. The guy who runs the sanctuary was very estatic that I had called about her. Apparently, no one has called on her, nor shown any interest in her, her entire time she has been there. I fell inlove with her the moment I met her, she was just a wiggly little girl (this was back in July of 2009). So now almost a year later, I am finally given the privilage to bring this wonderful little girl into my family.

<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Muffie2.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Muffie2.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Muffie1.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Muffie1.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Muffie.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Muffie.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
I will get updated pics of her once she is home.

Finally Home!
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose016.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose016.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose018.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose018.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose024.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose024.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose025.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/Moose025.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

4.9.10
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/GaDi2.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/GaDi2.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/GaDi1.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/GaDi1.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
<img src="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/GaDi.jpg"; alt="http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss151/dodgersuperman/GaDi.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

 • She's such a great little girl. Although her and Joey dont get along too great... Yet... She's still a very good girl. She still has yet to really eat a good meal. The dogfood she was getting wasnt the best quality, we also believe that they might've just given her human food, as she begs quite a bit. If I leave the room and she cant smell me, she starts whining and finds her way to the baby gate and waits for me. She twirls around and shakes and even stands on her hind legs and dances when I come home. She sits quietly in a kennel... Idk if she even knows she's put in one... But just goes to sleep, and I wake her by petting her :) She's very quiet... Doesnt bark. But has a horrible begging problem once she catches a whiff of your food. And is attracted to my laptop like a magnet :S
But she really is a great dog. I keep getting questions such as; Why'd you adopt a blind/deaf/old dog? My answer... Because just as any dog, she is still a life, regaurdless of her age, or capability to see or hear, and deserves the life she should've always had. And she may have 1 year left... She may have 5 or more... But Im going to make sure she gets that life, and nothing but love and happiness for the rest of her days.
Another question I get is... What does she do? What does any dog really do for that matter? So what kind of question is that? Some dogs may know how to do extravagent things, some may not. She's just like any other dog, who gives back tons of love, affection, devotion and loyalty... Just as any other dog would. Sure, she cant see nor hear, and is -completely- dependable on me, but I think that just makes our bond that much more stronger. Her "handicaps", dont slow her down one bit... Although the occasional mishaps of darting onto the porch and off it seconds later... She still twirls around, dances and greets me just as my other 3 dogs would.

Sorry for the long post. :S

 • I see no reason not to adopt a handicapped animal. I volunteered last summer at a local shelter, and I fell in love with many of them. If anything, they just need an owner even more, besides just the company and love. And, like all animals, these animals are still capable of love. She's not that much different because she can't see or hear, and obviously still shows affection torwards you. And isn't that what all animals do? Be our friends and companions and love us back?

 • I took her outside and played with her. She chased me around the yard (she feels the vibrations on the ground), but still runs into things. She was having alot of fun though, and looked just like a puppy. Very good little girl.

 • She doesnt even act old! She gets allexcited and twirls and dances. She's so cute when I come home, and when she gets all excited. She behaves very well too! I got her a pink collar that says Princess on it, and has a little cat bell on it so I know where she is if Im not paying attention to her. I've got sweaters for her too... She's so spoiled...

 • Most people that meet her cant even tell she's an older girl. However, if you spend time with her, or feel around on her, you can see just how old she is. Her spine is felt through her skin (even though she's not malnurished), she is balding, has a possible tumor and fatty corpusals all over her. She's unable to get up and down the stairs, so she must be carried and when you carry her, you can feel that she is old.
However, her personality is SO young. She romps around the house. Spins in circles, stands on her hind legs and dances. And loves to play outside and go for walks. There's just so much to her, that's really unexplainable. But she still has alot of life and spunk left. She does have bad seperation anxiety. If she cant feel me (she sits on my feet, or leans up against my legs so she knows Im there) or smell me, she will start to whine and goes to the babygate and waits for me.
We finally got her to eat, however, she will only eat on a paperplate. She will not eat on the floor or in a bowl. She pushes the plate around, so the dogfood is in one single layer on the plate. She will feel the dogfood to make sure it's in a single layer, and if it's not, she will keep pushing the plate until it is.
SHE'S the one that tries to makes ME rowdy. She growls, and puts her butt up in the air and hops around. Then will run around in circles.
She wakes me up everymorning by putting her front legs on my bed, then whining so she could be let out. When she gets bored, or cant get comfy, she will groan or growl in frustration. She's got quite the personality. She still doesnt like my other 2 dogs (Joey and Dingo) so she just ignores them.

Im really blessed to have such a great little girl in my life.
