My cousins have them, and I HATE them. Of course, they where inbred and turned out psycho. However, a lady that goes to my church has one and I love it! They can be territorial from my understanding, so training is a must asap. They might need firmer training.
I don't own a min pin but I do know many. When you look for one I'd recommend going on the AKC site and looking. (That is if you live in america, if not I can tell you other good resources.) This is because since these breeds are so popular it's easy to run into puppy mills and inbred pups There are probably many in shelters that are good, always ask how they got put in there though.

Another calmer breed that is slightly bigger and have less of a chance of being puppy mill-bred is the German Pinscher. All dogs of that breed that I have met were amazing dogs. Smart, cute, and not too small.

If you'd like more information feel free to contact me at any time and I'll be willing to help. Pm me on here or find me on VP as NewfGirl.
Hahaha I now noticed your location and it makes it clear you don't live in America. That's pretty cool! Which country? I could look up that country's kennel club for you no problem

I just really like helping people find dogs.. Lol
Sweet! Well then I'd look on the Australian National Kennel Council's page at http://www.ankc.org.au/ There's got to be a way to get to good breeders or rescue organizations from there
Thanks for all the replys

I do know firm training from the beginning is essential, so thankyou for bringing it up everyone

Also thanks NewfGirl for your imput, Min Pins arent very common at all in Australia so the only way id be able to get a pup is from a breeder and also I'm fairly sure ive never seen a german pin in australia... we dont have every dog under the sun... which sucks but yeah i spose thats how it is.
Lyc owns a Min Pin/Doxie Mix. But he looks more like a min pin. I LOVE HIM TO DEATH! Training is must, from my views on owning him for almost 6 years, training of course is a must. They are fast learners, very loyal to their owners, and extremely territorial and protective. For example, my mom loves hitting me for fun (i dont know why?) and every time she hits me, my dog gets very upset because i scream and tries to protect me. He hates violence lol He can be nice to some strangers.

He was my very first dog that I ever own, so I think my family and I did a very good job training him. The only thing we kind of failed in his training is making him social towards other dogs. This is because no one really own dogs where i'm from, no dog parks, etc. And we didn't have the money to afford socializing classes, that take place like an hour away from were i live.

Eksi, so if you need anymore info on min pins. Just pm me

In the far future, I plan to work on Min Pins, because I love this breed so much.
Thats awesome Lyc thanks so much for all the into.. we kinda want a goodish guard dog... uno one that just lets us know when someone is here kind of thing thats why we also chose the min pin
I just realized I put training is a must twice in the same sentence -_- ugh..lol

Oh another thing that I forgot to mention, he always lets us know when there's someone at the door. We always have the music on loud or my mom is cooking and/or washing dishes so sometimes we can't hear if someone is at the door. So, my dog will sniff at the door and bark to get our attention that there's someone there.
lol Come to think of it....I don't remember training him to do that lol, unless my parents did.

I'm so excited that I get to see him on Saturday or Sunday!! I haven't seen him in almost 3 months Booo for college, they love to separate me from my love one!
I think they might have German Pins over there.. I looked on the one link I gave you and it had them in the breeds section.. I just think they wouldn't be too popular lol they aren't very popular here either.. Min pins are everywhere here though.. Lol but if there aren't many Min pins there then you'll probably have an easier time finding a good breeder than trying to find one in America.. There's too many puppy mills here. Lol
That's a really good start.

Just be sure to go visit where they keep the dogs, I actually met a breeder that refused to let me see the living space of the dogs and made me meet her in a gas station parking lot... Big sign of a puppy mill.
Also when you see the pups be sure to check their eyes and see if they're bright and alert, if they aren't then they might have health problems
If you need a list of question that are VERY important to ask, PM me.
I've talked to a GSD breeder and she gave me a list of question to ask for every breeder.
