What games do you like(competitive or hobby)?

I've been a gamer since I was given my first NES and gameboy color. I currently own an Xbox360(along with various other old consoles), and my current games of choice are Left 4 Dead 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Surprisingly, despite being amazing at Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, I'm only average on the new one, but it's still fun, and the best selling game of the year. I actually went to the midnight release and the line was stretched out of the door, and 5 stores down. It was insane, but everyone was really nice. The employee watching the door wanted someone to come out with with prestige edition night vision goggles on, acting all serious.

Left 4 Dead 2 is a fun game over all, even though you're trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. It's like the movie "Zombieland." Even when my friends and I try to play the game seriously, about 60 seconds later we are laughing our butts off and behaving like 4-year-olds. The midnight release for this game was kind of sad...we all fit in the store comfortably.

My current hobby games(the ones that I play alone, or when I need a break from the above two) are:
[Nintendo DS]
The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road
Any of the Professor Layton Games
[Xbox360]
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 DEMO
Call of Duty: World at War - Nazi Zombies minigame (something about zombie games turn my friends and myself into immature little kids )
Borderlands

  • Harvest Moon.
Pokemon.
I loooooove harvest Moon. I have both male and female original versions for the DS, and a few of the new ones, but I haven't played them in quite some time. Same with Pokemon. I put over a thousand hours into them(hunting shiny pokemon), but lately I've been sticking to my 360.

It takes hours to get to the high levels. Do you just play the original, or DLC maps?

I wish my DS still worked. D:
I had the PS Harvest Moon and beat it, so I sold it for like $50.
  • AHHH L4D!
I want a 360, but the family is still in a heated debate over which gaming console we should get.

We have the ps2 right now and a nintendo Ds. Not the best, but still fun.

I've been playing StarWars Battlefront 2 for the ps2. Just like zombies turn you immature, yoda & chewbaca drive me & my friends back into 5year olds :D

Have you tried to play Bioshock?

  • I think the 360 is better than the PS3. Sony lost a lot of exclusive titles. With the 360, though you do pay $50 a year to play online, you get exclusives like the interactive live 1 vs. 100 show. I've honestly never seen a game show hosted over a video game console until this, and it's really fun. The Wii is in it's own genre, and doesn't have to compete with the PS3 or 360. It just depends if you want mature games or family games.

My brother is a huge Star Wars geek....we have waste away more money than a sane person would on collectibles IMO. Battlefront 2 was definitely one of my favorites for the PS2. I loved playing as the droids. I would play it more, but my brother never wants to play with me. D:<

I'm not a fan of the Bioshock series. My friend just purchased the sequel, so now I'm short a friend to play MW2 with. D:< again.

  • As for Xbox360 I love playing Left 4 Dead, one and 2, but I cant play with anyone since I dont have Xbox live and only have one controller. I played this one game at my friends house that was really fun. Idk what it was called though.. I think it was Silent Hill or something like that.

As for Wii I like playing Manhunt 2 but I can only play it in small doses because my mom thinks its going to turn me into a serial killer so she limits that playing time (LOL)

Nintendo Ds I love playing Ninja Town. That game is full of cute fluffy stuff but still somewhat challenging. And Yoshi Island. Ive always loved Yoshi. And Monkey Balls! That was like the first DS game I ever got xD

  • You should get a membership! It's really worth it when you have Left 4 Dead 2. I think there is at least one Silent Hill game for the 360 called Silent Hill: Homecoming. I almost bought it when I first saw it on shelves, but I think I bought Lord of the Rings instead....should have gone with Silent Hill.

Manhunt 2 is on the Wii?! I did not know that. I thought they heavily limited their mature titles.

I've never played any of those DS titles. D:

  • Yup Manhunt 2 is on Wii! I spent 10 minutes arguing with my mom to buy it for me since Im not 18. I tried to get the checkout guy to help me and he was like 'o_o Um nope. Id rather not be invloved.' So we comprimised, I get the game, but have limited playing time xD

Is this game any good? Worth buying?
My boyfriend saw it in walmart and was like "Aw. I want" So I was thinking about getting it for him. xD
  • I started gaming when I got my GB Advance, with a barbie horse game. XD All my childhood I had that thing, with a billion random games, like Shrek or Scooby-Doo and stuff. Then my cousin introduced me to Pokemon, which I fell in love with.

Also around then I would go to my friends house daily and use their Gamecube. Super Smash Bros Melee mostly. XD I also liked Zelda.

THEN I got a DS with Animal Crossing, Zoo Tycoon, ect. All those lovely childhood games from years back. :D

Now I love Kingdom Hearts - kinda kiddy but I love the fandom - and FINAL FANTASY. <3 I have all the KH games released, but only a few FF games, Pokemon Sapphire, Ruby, Pearl, and Platinum, plus a few more random games here and there. Hmm . . . in all, I have a DS, PS2, PS3 and am getting a PSP really soon, for KH: Birth by Sleep and Dissidia.

FFXII is almost out in English!! 8D

Sounds just like me!! My Gameboy Color came with Pokemon Crystal, and I was also given a Mary-Kate and Ashley horse riding game with it. Gosh, I played the horse riding game non-stop.

Animal Crossing was so addictive, but frustrating that it actually ran based on real life time. If I took a break for a month, I would come back and there would be weeds everywhere, and some of my neighbors left! Zoo Tycoon fueled most of my childhood on the PC. I had all the expansion packs for the original. Then I bought the sequel and the available expansion pack at the time. The first ZT game on the DS was too frustrating. After it froze on me a few times I gave up. The sequel on the DS is better though. I don't think I've ever spent more money on a single series of games like I did with Zoo Tycoon. It's probably tied with my Pokemon collection.

Eh, there is something about the FF and KH games I've never liked. I think it's the actual characters, because if KH just had Disney characters I would probably love it.

  • Lol, I started gaming when I was about four years old. xD
My brother used to play a lot of video games and that's how I started.
I don't remember the first game I played but I had a Sega and Nintendo 64. :]
I loveee video games xD
I got xbox live for the original xbox in like 2005 I think, after playing it at a friend's house.
She and I used to play Halo 2 online all the time. :] Fun times.
I still play Halo 2 on the 360 only because I hate Halo 3. Lol.
Until they get rid of H2 in April. :[ Damn Microsoft.
I'm pretty decent at Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare.
But terrible at Modern Warfare 2. xD
Left 4 Dead was my favorite game at one point. :]
The second one's graphics make me feel dizzy as MW2 does.
I don't own it, but I rented it and it was very fun though. ^^

I also like Borderlands. Very good game. :]
I'm thinking about getting Dragon Age if I ever get the money.
Sadly, I'm totally broke at the moment. xD
    You're a mess,
Your life's off track but your heart beats still,
And you push away like I know you will,
You go through the motions and loose motivation.

  • Thought I'd revive this to share my video game experiences. When I started this thread, only the demo was out for Battlefield Bad Company 2, but the whole game was released and I did buy it. I'm addicted! 140+ hours of play time later, and I've finally reached the top 10,000 list. I'm actually at 7900 something, last time I checked.

My friend also bought a capture card, and caught some silly moments and things I've done while in the game, and now they won't let me live it down. lol.

Preordered Red Dead Redemption. I'm really excited for this game. It's a massive world in which you can explore with 16 other players at the same time(if you choose). You can hunt, rob trains, seek out criminals for rewards, etc. Setting is during the industrial revolution, when cowboys are about to come to an end. March 18th!

Other random stuff:
Played and beat Mini Ninjas (fun!)
Started the original Ace Attorney game.
Finally got around to completely beating Zoo Tycoon 2 DS(I never wanted to do the actual challenges).
Friend bought me GTA IV.
Got Borderlands DLC(Generall Knoxx), and beat it multiple times.
Currently waiting for L4D2 DLC to be released.

I know it seems like a lot, but I haven't been able to sleep lately, so I play games.

Anyone else have updates?

  • Updates:
*Reached the top 3000 overall score on Battlefield Bad Company 2. I'm more than happy with that. Spent over 200 hours doing it.
*Beat the first Ace Attorney game, so now I'm onto the 2nd.
*Beat Mini Ninjas
*Beat the L4D2 DLC
*Tried out Lost Planet 2

Red Dead Redemption comes out tonight~!! I'm going to the midnight release at gamestop, but I'm trading my preorder content with a friend so I can get the <a href="http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstar/local_data/US/img/news/bonus_warhorse.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">war horse.
