WEE I FONALLY GOT A HAMMY! After days of begging, my mom took me to the petstore this morning and I picked out a hamster! She's a dalmation hamster and she's so cute! My dog won't leave her alone and he almost got ahold of her! o.o Her cage is absolutely giant. We used it for our guinea pigs a while back. She also has this playpen that you set up on the floor and she can wander around. She looks like a Sadie to me. =P Except, spelled differently. Liike... Saydie/Saydee/Saidy

Just from what she looks like, I'd name her Saydie. =D

Nuu, you can't! You should let your hammy choose herself. =P My bunny helped me choose his name... - He took quite an interest in my French text book, so I flipped to the "names used in this book" (wtf?) page... xDD And then, the first name I saw on the Male names list was Remi. It popped out at me and I LOVED it. =D

Aw how cute Got any ideas how she can choose her own name? We're using a towel as the bedding for today until my mom gets back from the store with wood shavings. We have cedar wood shavign but I was like "NOOO MOM NO CEDAR! IT KILL ANIMALS!" and she was like "Kelsey.." but I refused to use it xD

Ideas for how they can choose their name don't normally work. It just has to be a spur-of-the-moment thing. Something that happens naturally, I guess. Yeah. =P xDD But, you could examine her markings, figure out a name from them. Or watch her carefully as you let her loose to roam around in an enclosed area... watching animals describes their personality and you can get to know them better =D Most of my animals didn't choose their own names. Just Remi. Max, Molly, Lily, Milo, Lizzie, Buddy, Cody, Ozzy, Jesse -- all those names were just thought up. =P

xDD I'm like that now, too. I realized that it's hard to do much with Hammies, so I gave up on them and tried rabbits... they're more expensive, but I like them better than hamsters. Although, I've never been a real rodent person... perhaps that's why. =P

I'd let her roam some areas. Then, maybe something will come up. I have a contest for my lizard, but I think I may close it, because it seems odd to have someone else name it. Maybe I'll open a poll if I can't choose between some.

Not to be... "smart" or something (xDD) but there's no such thing as a Dalmatian hamster. She's a Black Dominant Spot Syrian Hamster. Dalmatian is just a dumb pet shop "breed" of the Syrian hamster to give pet stores a reason to increase the price of the hamster. :roll: It's dumb.
