• I used to have a rat, she was one of the smaller ones.
Her name was Poompkinh (AKA Pumpkin) .. its a family thing.

But I used to go shopping with her in my pocket, you know those jumpers that have the joint pocket in the front? I had a orange USA jumper that was hers .. wouldnt wear it without her. lmao.

my mum and dad didnt like her that much, but when I went to my aunties .. she was passed around. I loved her so much. And dad wont let me get another.

but after the first few months, once she got used to humans and their hands .. she never bit anyone, didnt pee or poo on people. and like you said Jazz .. with the tickling your ear? she didnt shove her whole muzzle in .. but you could always hear her sniffing around ..

kinda scary. i was always afraid that she would bite me ear. :P

nawh. ignore my mini-rant about my ratty. i miss her muchly.

 • A RAT FAN THREAD?!?!?!?!

Let me take this time to announce my love for rats. It extends to the farthest stars and back.
I have a little girl named Opal. She is a grey hooded rat, and is my LIFE.
I had a biggish cage for her in the beginning, but I bought a MEGA SIZE one when I figured she needed a better one.
I know what you mean about the front pocket thing, but rat loves to just chill in there while I walk around and stuff. She also likes to sit on shoulders. I trained her to come ... .... kinda. And she licks my leg without even being asked!!

Hahahaha, have you guys ever heard there little breathing sounds when they are trying sniff around?? Or have you ever felt their tooth-pick rib cages? And their little tongues are adorable. And don't even get me started on their little ears and noses. And I must add that I have grown to love the tails. Opal doesn't pee or poo on people or anywhere... except in the bathroom... I'm not really sure why she pees in the bathroom. :| Anyways... Opal=Life.

I will have to try the nose-kissing thing. Your rattie sounds adorable to the max. And i'm sure Opal and me would love to meet her sometime :P

 • Bunnies aren't rodents... buuuut... I have to mention mine xD

Remi knows how to go up & down the stairs and in & out of his cage when I leave it open. He knows how to come when I call (whether he WANTS to or not is a whole different, difficult story).

I think he thinks he has me trained. If he nips me when I'm holding him for too long and he wants to play with the dog/cats, that means "Put me down!" He normally doesn't bite again, but sometimes he will. And he's figured out how to make me chase him around the house, so we're still working on a little discipline on that one... hehe xD

I luff him, though <33

He's my anti-sad baby. He makes me happy no matter how angry/sad/etc I am xD Sort of like a 'chill pill' ;D He ALWAYS makes me laugh and loves to lick/nibble fingers. Hehe.
