Breeding Gone Bad

Puppy mills make me so mad!!!!!!!!! Look at all the dogs in shelters. Why do we need more? Puppy mills breed dogs in awful conditions-just for money. But they aren't the only bad breeders. Take <a href="http://virtualpups.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=56527"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">this</a> post, for example. It makes me so upset when people that know nothing about breeding dogs breed them. Sorry if I sound like I'm being a total copycat to <a href="http://virtualpups.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=56527"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">this</a> post, but I had to "vent" about it on my own post. Even people that mean no harm in breeding, just want to make a little cash and even like dogs, annoy me. A lot of them don't know enough about breeding. Who I am I to talk, I personally don't know anything about breeding. But I do know that this has to stop. So many dogs are in shelters, we can't have anymore. I mean, breeding to improve a breed or something like that is OK, if you know what you're doing. But why do people have to do this?! I just had to post something, sorry, i just had to. I love dogs and I hate it when they're overbred!!!!!!!! :x :evil:

I think we are over populated. Dogs lived fine a long time ago. We take over so much land and make cities that there really is no where for them to live in the wild like they used to. Since we like dogs we take them in our homes..but if we saw them as annoying like some other animals we would kill them off and they would be extinct like other animals. We brought this onto the dogs in many ways and not just breeding. I don't know exactly how to describe what I mean.

Dogs are naturally friendly and LOVE human company. They'd rather be with people than to be wild. But I do agree that many humans abuse that fact and do some horrible things to them. In this way, it is the human's falt. But not saying that dogs would be better off without us.

Real life is much worse, and kind of what I was trying to "vent" about, but I do agree that there is a lot of overbreeding on VP.

yes i do agree with there is a lot of overbreeding on vp but its a pet peeve when people are like omg those dogs are in such bad shape -_- its horrible, its just pixels

I made a post like this a couple days ago and someone deleted it because it got "religious." I agree on the puppy mill/backyard breeder thing. I'm sure everyone does, but it is probably not going to stop. I think you should only breed if you're reputable and responsible, and if breeding is your PASSION and you have lots of mentors in the breed and you've been researching it for years. If not, then don't. And rescue!
