Algebra 1?

Anyone good with it? :/ <br><br>Literally, NO ONE I know, and have access to a telephone number to, is able<br>to help me xD<br>I'm taking Geometry Skills right now in school, which is a dumbed down<br>version of geometry xD (but it means I don't have to take algebra 2! :D)<br>and since its the first week of school, we're reviewing from last semester<br>of last year :/ and..I don't remember, like...anything!!<br>It's very frustrating.<br><br>I just figured maybe someone on the forums would be able to help me out?<br>xD<br><br>What I'm dealing with right now is graphing, completing the square, and functions...<br>everything else i'm pretty good with.

    <br><span style="font-size:92">Okay well, functions are kinda like fractions in a way. Like, to figure out whether two fractions are equivalent or not, you have to find a common denominator, whereas with the function, all of the input numbers have to be multiplied by the same number in order to get the output number. So tell me, do you multiply the 2 to get 12 by the same number as you would multiply the 1 to get the 8?<br><br>There's really no work you can show for a function unless it's more advanced. </span> :wink:

  • To tell if its a function, you have to look at the domain (the input). If every number in the domain is different, then it is a function, like in your problem.<br>If a number was repeated (like 1,2,3,3,4) then the number would not be a function because the 3's repeated.<br><br>I'm a math teacher :)

  • Not algebra! *dies screaming*<br><br>Ok it wasn't that bad. I had it last year for 9th grade. It was the one class that seemed to speed by. <br><br>I did O.K. in the class. I was better at some parts than others. Good luck with it. :D I am in geometry now.

  • Me and Moony can do algebra 1 together<br>xD<br>I actually understand it all very well..<br>But i got placed in it again because last year(8th grade)<br>I got a C- because I never did homework<br>But got A's on the tests
