And that they are using up a resource that we all need too -.-

[/personal opinion that everyone will flame and fight over and that I really shouldn't have posted, but I am tired and feel like getting that out there]

 • Nascar is way more then just cars racing in a circle. People crash. People win. People lose. If you are like Tony Stewart you stop racing because of a 'tummy ache'.

So you see, look up some NASCAR facts. You may find something intresting! ^^

Topleaf, don't take this personally, it's not meant that way at all.

I just wanted to address this sentiment that was stated earlier and agreed with. Next time someone complains about there not being enough firefighters, medical care, public assistance or tax relief and then sits down to watch WWF wresting, pro baseball, football or basketball, they also need a reality check.

Yes, it uses a lot of gas, however the income brought to local towns/cities hosting the events such as those listed above are enormous, bring in tons and tons of revenue. The advertisements that companies pays hundreds of thousands of dollars for sell products/service to people and employ hundreds of thousands of workers to fill orders. So yeah, maybe a waste, but what the heck, it does do some good and people enjoy it.

What about movies and the gas wasted to go back and forth to see them, the gas employees use going back and forth to work to help produce those movies. Maybe we should cut them out of entertainment as well, we don't need them and everything tied in with producing them is a waste. Each of those Nascar teams employ upwards of 30 people. That's 30 people per car, doesn't count the parts manufactured or the track officials.

Don't bash someone else's idea of entertainment without looking at your own. And for the record, I don't understand Nascar and don't wish to, but that's my preference.

I certainly won't begrudge anyone else their enjoyment

 • They complain about gas prices, the president says he can't do anything, the government can't do anything.... ban racing? Even if it was just for a couple of years so the people could see how much gas went down and then voted on banning racing?

 • But like Alabama said this would put ALOT of people out of jobs. And the way the economy is going anyway. I don't see why you would want to put more people out of jobs.
Gas isn't going to go down. If congress would let us drill in Alaska or Off-Shore it would help alot. ;]
