I was just thinking as I trained this dachshund... Wouldn't it be wonderful if mood didn't go down so fast? It's endurance was 60, which is pretty bad, and some of those cavilier spaniels get as low as 39.

So I brainstormed a bit and came up with an idea: How about dogs each have their own temperament, or attitude? I know VHR has temperaments but I think that a dog's attitude should affect it's training (and showing) more.

For example, the list of attitudes could be something like:
Cheerful
Sulky
Stubborn
Shy
Social
Aggressive
Passive/ Submissive
Playful
Wild/ferril
Hyper
Normal
Lazy
Dominant
etc...

Now I will proceed to explain my master plan... Cheerful dogs' mood would go down slightly slower than others when being trained. Sulky dogs would be the opposite.
Stubborn dogs will have quirks such as not wanting to breed to a certain dog. This would help overbreeding because if overbreeders breed a stubborn dog, it's pups have a higher chance of being stubborn and it would be harder for them to find studs. People who care to breed well would breed this out of their lines quite quickly. Social dogs would be the opposite of stubborn dogs. They will breed to any dog, and would be good for breeding stubbornness out of lines. They also do slightly better in shows like showmanship, conformation, and team events lke mushing, weightpulling, and flyball.

Shy dogs would do less well in team events and showmanship/conformation. Like the stubborn dog, this could be bred out of lines easily by good breeders. They also do slightly better in solo events with no crowds, such as hunting or solo mushing.

Aggressive dogs' aggression would go up slightly faster than normal. They would do well in events requiring aggression, and poorer in events requiring low aggression such as showmanship and herding. However, if the aggression was low enough, the chances of passing it on would be slim and they would still be able to compete in herding and showmanship.

Passive/submissive dogs would do better in showmanship and conformation. Their aggression would go down slightly faster. Again, if yo raise aggression high enough or breed it with a dominant or aggressive dog, the genes will become recessive to the stronger, dominant nature and not show in the offspring.

Playful dogs would be similar to cheerful, only their mood goes down just as fast as a normal dog. However, it goes up faster than normal. So things like rough housing, play friendly, retrieve, and stay would increase mood slightly more.

Wild/ferril attitudes would be more common in neglected dogs or dogs that are ferril (foxes, coyotes) and possibly lupus dogs. This could be bred out but it would have a rather negative effect on showing and/or training except for hunting. They would excell in this because their nature would be to hunt.

Hyper attitudes would affect training greatly. Their energy would go down slightly slower than normal. It wouldn't go up faster, just go down slower. The dogs would be eager to learn. Also, just a thought, they might have a better chance of producing 4 star hyper offspring. Hyper attitudes would be rare in calm family breeds such as American eskimo dogs (edited) and more common in hyper breeds like border collies. These dogs would do slightly better in racing, flyball, canine disc, and agility.

Normal dogs have no bonuses or negatives. All existing dogs would become "normal" type and their offspring would start to become different. It would be a bad thing if breeders who worked hard to improve their tock suddenly found that they had stubborn females who wouldn't breed to their studs. Breeds that are typically stubborn can be countered by social dogs. These, of course, would be rarer until people started to breed them specifically.

Lazy dogs would be, well, lazy. Their energy would go down slightly faster. They would do worse in sporting and other physically tiring events. But they wold do well in showman ship and conformation just because of the little physical tolling. This attitude could be countered with a hyper dog.

Dominant dogs would do well as team leaders in team events and wouldn't do well as a team member. A mushing team, for example, would do worse if the dominant dog was in the back and a passive/ submissive dog in the front. Specially bred "team leader" dogs would start popping up everywhere and people would choose carefully to assemble perfect teams.

I think that these ideas could really be awesome. I realize it would also take a lot of coding, though. However, it would make people think more about the dogs they breed and how to enter them in events. Nowadays, super dogs reign supreme in events, and they are all trained very similarly. This makes it up to luck and breed to determine a leader. But with dog attitudes, people would start to think more about how they enter their dogs, especially in team events. A well assembled team would do well, while a hastily scrapped together team would lose out. People would start to look for hyper dogs (to make 10x4's lol), cheerful dogs to create high-mood lines, and stay away from sulky or passive dogs unless they are looking for a passive dog for shows. I think that every attitude would have it's pros and cons, but it could really revolutionize VP. It is about time something chaged here, for the better. Things are starting to get a little old. Train, breed, brag about your 9x4 and 10x4 dogs, train, breed, train, check messages, auction, sell, train some more.

This would make VP a more strategic game, which is exactly what it needs. People could even sell ready-made compatible teams rather than 4 well-trained dogs.
