Bids on dogs

edited August 2005 in Game Suggestions
Anyone else sick and tired of the stupid bids on dogs listed not for sale? I'm not exactly sure how this may work, but possibly like ignoreing in messages. Is there a way that Nef maybe could program it so that you could turn off bidding on dogs listed not for sale? like say you go to management and click a on or off link for Allow bidding on dogs not for sale or something?

If you vote no, please say why! If you dont, we could just assume that you are one of the people that place low bids far lower then the dogs worth to see if you can get a dog for far below its value

  • Or maybe she could program it so that you have to bid a certain ammount to start your bidding.

Say you set the minimun bid at 100k. The person placing a bid on the dog would have to bid at least 100k.

  • Meh..i like this idea and then i don't.Because what if you turn off bidding and you need to bid on that dog for a new account?
lol like I said, maybe we can have an ignore list and and accepted list? like people on the accepted list can bid even if you turned off bidding on dogs not for sale

  • that would be cool!
it is anoying to have to delete bids! takes time!(yes i am lasy!)it does get annoying when it says THIS DOG IS NOT 4 SALE and people bid anyway!

  • Something to stop bids or limit bid amounts would definitely be nice. I'm tired of ridiculous bids on my dogs...

Before the training bonus when there were only a handful of 'super dogs': A $5 bid on an multi 4 star 200 statted gift colored wolf.

0 bids on my maxxed unbred foundation dogs

$100 bid the other day on my international, multi million $$ earner, Denali. $100??! I've turned down 30 mil for him...

and of course the list goes on and on.

It's annoying.

  • yeah, i've had people bidding 0, 1 and 50ish bids on my 10x4 corgi, the first 10x4 in the game

ofcourse you can probably guess i didnt hesitate to accept those bids! lol
    MiniAussiebanner-1.jpg
  • I love the idea of a minimum bid limit. You could always set it ridiculously high on the dogs not for bids and deter anyone from bidding on those dogs.
  • true, that would kinda make it like ebay lol

  • I think it's a great idea! That way even if you don't want to sell a dog but you wouldn't mind selling it for alot of money you can set it so you would have to worry about usless bids, and if you really wanted a dog you could just see if the owner has a low or high biding range :D

:D Good Idea, I hate it when people do that :D
  • the delete button. I don't have a problem with deleting bids and it doesn't happen to me all the time, also I like rescuing cheap but decent dogs and giving them to novices (mostly) I know that really care about training them, I just did this today with a couple of dobermans. When I give these dogs to deserving people I just have them bid 0, it would be a lot more trouble to have to go create a list of players that can bid low or 0. But that's just my opinion :D

  • I voted no b/c it seems like more work than just hitting the delete button. I don't have a problem with deleting bids and it doesn't happen to me all the time,

Easier if you only have a few dogs but my holding kennel has over 500 dogs on it and seeing as there are many gift colors, multi 4 star, 200 statted and/or lots of foundation dogs of some of the rarer breeds I have to contend with a LOT of idiotic bids..not one or two, a LOT.

So no, the delete button is more work than it's worth to me.

  • Yes, one of the kennels i bought from Kyala has 350 dogs on it so everyday im deleting atleast 5 idiotic bids.

Oh no do not say that. :P But anyway, I do agree that that there should be something done to help this. Especially since when deleting the bid, you may with out realising accept the bid and then you have sold your pup for birds feed considered to the full 10 course meal it is worth. I done that once or twice when I first started.

  • I just love when people bid 0 and stuff like that. It makes me happy like the guy on the commercial, where he's "In debt up to his eyeballs".

Heh, I just wanna ring necks when people do it.

Especially when it's a crappy dog, people bid millions, so you decide to sell, then it either 1. freezes your kennel or 2. says they don't have the money.

Doesn't that make you happy?

NOT

    back for a bitt. =D
  • Great idea! ALthough i dont have many dogs, for some reason when someone bids on one of my dogs it never shows up in - While you were away:.....but anyways......

In your management section? If you have event results on it no bids will show there.

  • I love this idea too.On my breeding account I have dogs for sale/bid and I keep getting very low bids on my dogs and it's starting to get on my nerves. I'm thinking of just releasing/retiring all the dogs I have for sale.

  • I have to say I'm thinking 'no' on this idea.

One of the best dogs I bought was a 'not for sale' dog. I placed a bid on him that was fairly generous, and the person sold him to me.

Now, I really like the idea of having a minimum bid, but not a pre-programmed minimum bid, if that makes sense.

Entering a minimum bid number would allow people to place a fairly high price, then see what they get. Having a 100k pre-programmed minimum bid amount would mean that novices could never bid on dogs. Stepping past whether thats a bad thing, I think it would be unfair to novices. :)
