ok well i dont like dogs beeing called mutts it makes them sound like they arnt as good as a purbred i mean just because they are a mixture of breeds doesnt mean they cant be just as good as outher dogs i have a jack russel terrier/poodle mix and well he is the greatest dog ever he wins 1st 2nd and 3rd places in shows and his puppys are just as great (this is in real life).so i think that they shouldnt be called mutts any more how come they have a thing on vhr cross breeding chart how come they cant have one for vp to.

Ok Im guessing your the one who posted this on the BB too... I own a mutt, and I see nothing wrong with the word. Also, why are you breeding mutts?

im not the one that posted on the BB and by the way its not against the law to breed mutts i mean most dogs are mutts, so i will breed mutts if i want.

Ok IMHO people that breed mutts are just out to make a quick buck. If you want a mutt that's fine but there is no reason on earth to bring more dogs into being espically mutts when thousands of dogs have to be put to sleep each year because shelters can't find homes for them

i know all that but when your looking for a dog its hard to find a purbred dog in real life enless you want toi pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars, and i wouldnt breed a dog that there puppys have no chance in being sold to a good loving home. my dog is a champ even though he is a mutt we have sold every one of his puppys and most of them have become to be great show dogs. i dont like puppy mills they just breed and breed and the dogs arnt trained or anything, but it is different when a dog is trained and isnt overbred

And how many puppies is that? for every one of those puppies you have sold somewhere some dog has had to be put to sleep next time think about that beofre you breed. I love mutts and would rather own a mutt than anyother dog. but I work at an animal shelter and it breaks my heart to have even one of the dogs inside put to sleep but I can't adopt everyone. I hate it when people say "My dog is a champion so i should breed him." No just because your dog is a champion does not mean he should be bred only the epitome of each breed should be bred and mutts shouldn't be bred at all because what standard do you compare a mutt to before you breed it?

Mutts are mutts are mutts. I believe we've had topics about this before. Mutts include wolf hybrids, and I'm obviously not against those (I'm breeding them!). But if the mutts are going to be randomly bred, then they should definatly be released. Same thing with other breeds... I'll go on random shopping sprees to buy ill-statted, untrained dogs just to neuter and release them...

im not saying that just because he is a champ we should breed him im just saying that even though he is a mutt he makes great quality pups. my famillay owns a rescue center/ dog showing kennel i know peaple shouldnt breed there dogs alought we have bred are dog once and that is all we will breed him we love each and every one of the dogs we get we find them good homes and we wont retire them enless they have no apsolute chance we also have have foster parents that take care of dogs,i dont agree with the idea of overbreeding mutts 1 or 2 is ok deppending on what breed of dogs they atre since my dog is very small they have a max of 3 dogs in a litter. and i dont agree with the idea of breeding bad stated mutts, but if they are trained with good show quality i agree with that

And who decides what is great quality? What makes a dog great quality to you? You could find just as great of a dog elsewhere. Do you health test? Screen homes for the pups? Spueter them before they leave your home? Do you check in on them often? If not, they could be producing litter after litter and who knows how many go to shelters. If you dont health test, how do you know the pups you produced arent full of genetic diseases or will be prone to certain problems and/or disorders?

we do all that and we check on every dog every 2 months and if they ever decide to give a dog to a shelter we take the dog back. and like i said some times we do have to put some dogs to sleep but most fined good homes.

i am kind of agains putting animals down myself, but if they're suffering i am ok with it. like a dog i used to look after (we look after pups for a local shelter when they havn't much room), patch, had a failed kidney, so we had to put him down (even tough it broke my heart), and a horse at a riding school i go to was put down because of her age.

No matter how you look at it ALL dogs are mutts.All but wild dogs.I'm tired of people yelling about how you shouldn't breed mutts.I had a mutt and would have bred her in a heart beat,but I wasn't able to.I would rather breed two 'Mutts" together than the so called pure-bred dogs.

As with evey thing, on this game mutts are good in moderation. If you have 2 champions that are getting old and want to breed them to get a new litter of champions, then ya I'm for it.

i think it is there desicion if they want to breed. BUT every dog anyone breeds in real life thats another 10 or so being put down. i personally think the world has enough dog problems we need to take care of the current over population before adding more helpless dogs. mixxed breeds and all.
