What's In A Name?

Ok so I thought this might be a neat topic to discuss... How did your screen name(s) (either in game, on the forums, or both) come about? Also would you change it if you could? I'll kick things off. I decided upon Paranormal Wolf for a few reasons. First off it was rather unique, or at least I thought so lol. I was really into things of the paranormal at the time and was also really into wolves.I still like the idea of paranormal things but am not really into it like I once was. I also still really like wolves but am a little more fond to foxes these days. All my names in game except for one is some form of Paranormal Wolf. The exception being Elusive fox. If possible I would alter my screen name a tad. Most have come to know me as Para and in other mediums I've stuck with Para and paired it with other endings. So I believe I would either shorten it to Para or maybe do Para something lol.

My forum name is Tigercub101 (don't know why the 101 at the end really) but tigercub because I loved tigers, I was quite young when I made the account and didn't think I'd still be here now, so went with tigercub. In the game I am Dark Flame. I don't really know why I came up with that. I know I was going through a very emo phase at the time, which is where the dark came from, but I think I was pretty interested in fire and the way it flickers and such things. So that may be where the flame bit comes from. However everyone seems to know me as Tiger now, and I don't think I would really change that. My favourite animal is still a Tiger so I guess it still fits.

I'm still a bit mesmerized with the flickering of fire so I can see the appeal for sure lol. I've always been really picky with screen names and usually take forever in choosing one, which I then use over several platforms lol. Though I liked mine at first it's now lost it's luster lol.

I chose uglydog because I used to doodle all the time and I had like 3 standard 'I'm bored' drawings. A weird alien horse/dog monster thing, an ugly dog, and cartoon fruit monsters. Though Cartoon Fruit Monster might have been a better name, haha. I don't think I'd come up with a better name, I don't join many games these days.

I joined VP when I was very young and I was coming out of a Club Penguin phase. I had been a long time player there and my penguin's name was Frostbight8, relatively standard for that website. I remember that I had just turned 9 when I joined that site, but I was still thinking I was 8, so that's where the 8 comes from. It's also the reason that "Frostbight" is spelled wrong, I just didn't know any better. So, when I went to join VP, I felt as though I was "betraying" my penguin, and the compromise was to take the same username here. Most people call me Frost now, so I don't think I'd change my name if I had the opportunity. It's certainly unique!

I had a screen name I'd used for years on various other gaming sites, based on a character I created and played since a teenager for a table top RPG, but I stopped playing online games for a couple years. When my daughter got old enough to play, I started shadowing her (with her knowledge). To keep from embarrassing her and keep my anonymity from other players that I remembered, I decided to not resurrect the old name and just chose the state I live in. The only games I still really play are VP and its sister from another mother, so I don't think I'll be changing it since everyone knows me by it.

Cartoon Fruit Monster would be an interesting one lol. I've seen you pop online a few times and always wondered where your name came from. I do that with a lot of people's names, I'm a bit curious I suppose.

I always wondered where the 8 came from Frost lol. I really never noticed the misspelling until you pointed it out. I guess it's where I just read quickly and my mind auto corrects it haha.

I always wondered if you're was the state you're from. I assumed but then again you never know lol.

Many years ago, my friend was really into doing role playing games and drawing characters. She made a character for each of her friends and told us to make up a name it. The first thing that popped into my mind was the racehorse Cigar. I didn't think it was girly so i added an "i" to the end - Cigari. I didn't care for the way it sounded and altered it to Zagari. I really like the name and I have used it for many years in many different venues. I added Wolf to the end when I joined VP to make it more "dog" related. lol The only thing I'd change would be to make my forum name capital. I have no idea why I didn't capitalize it when I joined. It drives me nuts!

I always thought your name was unique and wondered where it came from. When I first joined I actually read it wrong, my brain flipped it around to Zagria lol. I do that a lot especially, with numbers. I always say I must have a touch of dyslexia or something. The not having it capital would drive me nuts as well. I'm not the best with grammar, far from it actually lol but some stuff drives me crazy. Such as the usage of no and know.

Hi guys I just came back to vp for good at least as much as i can. Figured I would look at the forum activity and this post sounds fun so here I go: Any game I join I go for my Typical Username : Melrose437 Before I got this name down I have Darkrose as a game name ( I don't know where I came Up with that....) But I had joined a new game and was met with the challenge of getting a new name so I put in the (Mel) part since this is a part of my real name and a real life nickname my friends and family use. The (rose) part came from the idea that I loved roses and wanted to make a username that sounded like a real name people could name their child or something like that and FINALLY (437) ... well it is part of one of my email, the number was actually generated by Microsoft when my original email name was not available with only the name but 437 is now part of my brand for any gaming activity LOL Hope this is interesting to anyone : P

That's a nifty idea, to combine part of your real name with something you like. I don't think I'd much be able to do that with my real name. Guess I could but there's not really anything that sounds good that it would pair with, at least not that I can think of lol. Now I could use a nickname "Foon" and maybe pair it with "Dog" to get Foon Dog or Foon Doggie, that would be kinda unique ha. Foon actually became a nick name because when I was younger and during the Furby crazy my Furby couldn't pronounce my real name and called me Foon LOL. Likewise, my friend became Treevis because of his Furby XD

My accounts are old so not happy with some of the names lol, Tbone was a Dog we had my brother named, JR cross Corgi. Alan Wake, a Game I really liked the story to. FlyTM, well I was known as Fly by most people on here and TM came a thing with a friend nd me to have on the end of our gaming Tags SaskyTM my Gaming Tag on XBL which is my real name just been shorten.

Oh my when I first started I went by Dogtrainer101 on the forum I am not 100% sure where it came from but I know at that time I was doing dog training in 4-H and wanted to be a dog trainer lol. My in game name of White Frost comes from the fact I live in Minnesota and its a frozen tundra half the year lol, some other games I play I go by the name Frozen Tundra too. My other kennel Here Today! Gone Tomorrow! came that way I purchased the sponsor kennel but did mostly training for it so the name couldn't be changed but it has grown on me the past yearish that I have had it.

My name is a song by my favourite band. On other sites I've used variations of it, for example 0paperwings0 on dA. Alternatively there is Moose, which a friend used to call me in the past. Kind of like calling someone a muppet or fool, but in a more friendly way lol. Some sites those two names are taken so I had to resort to PaperMoose as a combined name. I can't remember what I used to use before this name, since I've been using it for probably around 11yrs lol.

Aww I use to have what i believe was a JRT cross Corgi or as I've seen them called Co-Jack. She was an awesome little dog. I've never played Alan Wake but always thought it looked like an interesting game.

I would love to be a professional dog trainer in real life. I always thought it would be neat to work with a wide variety of dogs. And sounds too cold for my liking in Minnesota, I don't do well in the cold and hate snow lol.

The banner is from sketches Nitty and I used to do on OpenCanvas. From those we had a mini comic going, she would draw the outlines and I would colour them in. Purple cat was her fursona as the moose was mine.

That sounds like tons of fun! I use to have a mini comic but it wasn't that good really. Just something I doodled with and nothing much ever came from it. I'd say it would have been much better had I been doing it with a friend instead of just my lonesome lol.
