2015 Resolutions?

Well the new year is officially here! Did any of you guys make any resolutions for VP or in real life that you would like to share?

For my VP resolutions I hope to establish my long term eventing breeds and lines. I've been working on this and tweaking things sense some time last year. So I'm really hoping to get things settled soon. I've got several breeds to work with to get things in place. Its slow going but it's moving forward! I'm also planning to work on eventing the dogs I currently have up to a decent event level before sending them to my retirement kennel and before I start eventing my more long term breeds. That means I've got quite a bit of eventing ahead of me!

For real life I hope to continue working on a healthier lifestyle. Again last year I started eating better and exercising more. The holidays threw me off kilter but I'm getting back into the swing of things and want to continue making positive changes. I also hope to get everything ready and go back to school in the fall so that I can work toward a bachelors degree.

So here's hoping the best for 2015 for me and for all you lovely VP people out there!

 • I didn't make any VP resolutions however for real life.

I have promised myself that I will try and get into a proper routine where my washing is concerned. Our wash pile ends up all being done on a Sunday and once dry ends up in the basket for the rest of the week until I have time to put it away again. So I'm hoping that I will be able to start the washing Friday night after work and finish it by Saturday afternoon which will give me the time to put it all away that weekend.

I'm also going to try and study more toward learning the skills I need for a new job. As well as saving more to get a mortgage on the house we are in.

So hopefully if all goes to plan, 2015 will be the year that everything is finally being awesome... If not I'm sure it will be great anyway

 • I know what you mean about the wash. We're a lot alike in that regard. Where our washing machine is out of commission we have to take our wash to my aunt's hose or someone else's. That's not too terrible but then once I get it home I let it sit in the basket for days until I finally put it away.

Speaking of money that's another resolution of mine, to save. We are horrible with saving money but we really have to start. There's things we really need to fix and need to stop putting it off. And speaking of houses it would be wonderful if we could sell ours and move this year but I'm not going to hold my breath on that as i know how it's played out in the past and I know how my luck is. So I'm not even going to get my hopes up for that!

 • I have some goals!
For VP, I'd like to get back into the game. I know I haven't been very present lately, aside from stalking the forums every now and then. I've been keeping to myself mostly, and I'd like to change that and be a better participant like I was before. And my Chippiparai line neeeeds to be worked on, so I wanna start on that again pretty soon before my sponsors run out.

Outside of the game, I'll be happy if I learn some new recipes and improve my art some more. Maybe get some exposure  I don't have any complicated goals, I'm happy as long as I keep creating. <3

 • I have goals for both vp and real life!

VP: Get back into eventing. I don't know why but I've really slacked off eventing. I think I overwhelmed myself when I put most of my event dogs in my main kennel. The drop down box is just...massive. So, I'll work on figuring out what to do with that. Ugh, organization! >.>

Real life: I want to start eating healthier, and being more active. Last Summer I tried to exercise more, but did too much too fast, and ended up with a stress fracture in my foot. I've been resting my foot (too dang cold outside to exercise anyway), so hopefully it'll be good when Spring comes. My big goal is to climb a mountain with Boss. I have one picked out that isn't too big, but it's a start!

It would be great to see you get back into the game! I miss seeing a bustling VP environment! And it's always fun trying new recipes. I've gotten really big into cooking with a crock pot so I'm always looking to add recipes to my collection. Speaking of creating I need to find my creative muse yet again. I've not made or written anything in quite a while.

It sure can be overwhelming when the drop down box gets huge. I have tons of eventers but keep them in boarding when not eventing. Then I scope out what events are being hosted and work with one type at a time. I usually just start with agility and work my way down, and only take out the eventers that will be used for that set of events. So I'll take my 4 dogs out for agility and then keep them out for those events and any other I show them in. I turn them and then put them in boarding before I enter them in the last set of 4 events. That way they won't show up in the drop down while I work on other events. Hope that makes sense. Its how I keep all my eventers from showing up all at once and helps keep things more organized.

I've done that in the past where I'll try to take on too much too fast. For me when I do that it just doesn't stick and i end up reverting to my old lazy unhealthy ways. This time I'm taking things much slower and so far it's helped. I still fall back at times but its easier for me to pick back up and move forward. Good luck with your goals but I'm sure you can reach them. Just take things one step at a time and you'll be climbing that mountain sooner than you think :D
