I was eventing earlier, and since it is a pretty automatic activity for me, I got to thinking. Some of my eventers are getting ready to retire, and I realized that even though I have a sense of pride for them, I'm not particularly attached. I didn't breed them, and there's a queue of dogs just waiting to take their place.

So then, of course, I thought of <a href="

He's nothing special, not a great event record, only national, no special stats, but he's my absolute favorite dog of all time. "Gunner", as I started calling him, was the first dog I evented to National level. In his time, he was really special for me since I bred him myself and I was a newbie, and newbies typically weren't able to do as well as the dogs of other veteran players. Eventing was booming and high endy BCs weren't really around yet, but competition was quite tough and he held his ground, along with the other three on my herding team. Sometimes we'd light up the board, taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Even his name was special to me, as at the time I just thought it was just the greatest thing I'd ever thought of, lol.

Yeah, that's basically the story of my favorite. I was thinking that others might have that one special dog too?
And if so, I thought it'd be neat to have a thread for sharing.

So... would anyone like to brag?
