Stopping by!

edited October 2014 in General Discussion
I don't know if I am remembered, but I lurked about the forums and saw a few familiar names. I wanted to check in to thank VirtualPups and all the kind people I met over my many years active. I have never forgot this site and the great practice it gave me in many real-life aspects. For one, my graphics/layout making skills I gained on here have allowed me to go to college for a degree in Computer Engineering. I love what I do and I know VP had a lot to do with it, as strange as that might sound.

Also, I especially wanted to stop by to show you all two of the loves of my life. About 4 years ago, I met the man of my dreams (with whom I am now engaged to be married) and together, we adopted my best friend. She is the only breed, probably in the world, I did not learn about via VP. She is an Alaskan Husky from a sled dog camp in Alaska, bred for racing in the Iditarod. Her father was a pure-bred Siberian Husky and her mother was another Alaskan Husky that looked exactly like her. An Alaskan Husky is a breed that was made for sled racing. Over many generations, they were mixed with various hounds and the Siberian to get the greatest speed they could. Their history is very interesting and I suggest you look into it! (: I am explaining this in an attempt to halt the "Are you sure she isn't a German Shepherd?" comments. Yes, I am sure!

This is Nova!
<img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b173/k_true/DSC_8989.jpg"; alt="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b173/k_true/DSC_8989.jpg"; class="bb-image" /><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b173/k_true/DSC_8684.jpg"; alt="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b173/k_true/DSC_8684.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

In 3 short weeks, Nova will be getting a sister. We are adopting a pure-bred Siberian Husky female named Mika. She is gorgeous with ice blue eyes and we couldn't be more excited to meet her!

Here is Mika (:
<img src="http://photos-f.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xfa1/10729235_800392639981349_1105591495_n.jpg"; alt="http://photos-f.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xfa1/10729235_800392639981349_1105591495_n.jpg"; class="bb-image" />
(This photo was not taken by me! It was taken by the very talented @ellaswolfpack on Instagram. She is the current owner of the litter from her gorgeous Husky Kyra!)

So hello you all! I hope you are doing well too (and the site as a whole).
