Shin Splints

I hate them. I had them extremely bad last year and overtime they went away but the swelling stayed. I plan to run track this year but when I started running, like 2 weeks in my left shin started hurting again. Has anyone ever had them and know a way to get rid of them or at least make the swelling go away?

  • I got them when I was in basic training, the only way to really get rid of them is to rest them, reduce the workload and/or wear better shoes. You can ice them to relieve the pain and swelling. They're usually a result of sudden strenuous increase in use of the legs.
