He was clearly starving, I could see several of his ribs and his hip bones clearly, and he was begging for food. He was covered in cuts, and had TONS of fleas, I just couldn't leave him there.

He's been home with me for about a day now, and he's eaten a little bit, drank a lot, had a bath, gotten flea treated, and had his teeth brushed. He even has a veterinarian appointment set up for next week, but now comes the hard part... Rehabilitating him.

My goal is to get Spot rehabilitated enough to rehome him, as I don't have very much time between being a full time college student and having a full time job. He's a sweet guy, but he has a long way to go. I guess he has never seen dry dog food before as he doesn't seem to recognize it as food. So far I've been able to get him to eat a little bit by mixing it with wet food, but because of the risk of gum disease with an all wet food diet, I'm hoping to get him onto just dry food soon. He also has no potty training. In fact, the first thing he did upon entering my home was to pee on the floor.

I'm looking for some good advice on how to help him. Does anyone else have any experience with this? If so, or if you have any input at all, I'd love to hear it.
