Sims 4

edited September 2014 in General Discussion
I know a few people on here were into Sims 3, but I was wondering if anyone is looking forward to the next version?

I got an email tonight to tell me I have access to the CAS demo, Simm can vouch for how rather overly excited I was about it lol. I've got the collectors edition on pre-order, have done from about the time it was announced. Plus pre-ordered the Sims 4 Prima guide...

Let's just say I'm a bit of a Sims geek/hoarder. Anyone else? >.>

 • I am so, so, so, so excited!!!! I haven't actually pre-ordered it yet, mainly because I'm curious about the gameplay and such before I go and spend money on it. I have high expectations for this game, and I'm a bit scared that I'll be disappointed. D:

But seriously... Can we take a second and talk about the lack of toddlers and pools?! I find it a bit ridiculous. I mean, I'm sure that they'll throw them into expansion packs later, but c'mon.

 • Sims 4 looks so beautiful compared to the others, I'm super psyched. I already spend WAY too long making my Sims look just the way I want them to, so I'm kind of worried that with all these sliders and full customization, I might not ever get to the actual gameplay!

I hope that the Sims can vary in personality more drastically, too. I think it's going to be a super good game, I'm not worried about being disappointed at all! Haven't pre-ordered yet, but I intend to. 8)

 • Super excited but haven't pre-ordered as a friend has and I'll test it out with her before purchasing my own copy :P
 • I actually didn't like Sims 3. I bought it and played it once then went back to Sims 2 haha. I'm hoping Sims 4 is a huge step up from sims 3!!
 • I umm... already tried the Sims 4 CAS... i really didn't want to like sims 4 cause ive spent over £150 on Sims 3... and I fear that I will never play it again if i get sims 4...

so much money invested into the thing...

But I have to say... I WANTS IT

 • Yeah bit miffed about the lack of toddlers, as growing my families is my key part of game play. Not too fussed about the missing pools though.

The CAS is so straaaange. And really don't like the lack of changing the texture/colour :( Preset colours is a bit of a backwards set.

I hope people create some custom hairs for it, as I really want more texture in the hair itself.

I've preordered the collector's edition from Game, it comes with a plumbob that you plug in via USB lol. So will be interesting to see what that is! Cost maybe £80... >.>

I dread to think how much I spent on Sims games... I got all of Sims 1 (but lots of those were fakes from when I lived in Nepal), I got all of the Sims 2 (but the stuff packs were downloaded from erm.. particular sites? Lol) and I have all of the Sims 3 except the latest stuff pack. Think that's the movie stuff or something similar? But they had announced Sims 4 by then so was already drawn away from 3. And just wanted to know more about the new game XD

Looking forward to building and decorating houses, as that's what I love doing. I'm not that good at it lol but I enjoy it! Here are some old examples of my Sims 3 houses/rooms:

<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/1.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/1.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/2.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/2.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/3.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/3.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/4.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/4.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/5.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/5.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/6.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/6.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/7.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/7.jpg

<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-2.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-2.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-3.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-3.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-4.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-4.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-5.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-5.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-6.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-6.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-7.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-7.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-8.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-8.jpg
<a href="http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-10.jpg"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://ebilmoose.com/sims3/Screenshot-10.jpg

Like I said not great but ah well!

 • The lack of toddlers is pretty bad... As I keep saying to my partner what am I supposed to do with the baby? Teach that to walk and talk? I love the toddler stage, like very important to humans and they want the game to be realistic... Hmmm I'll try and have a child but miss them being a toddler... Silly sims.

Sorry went on a rant there.

My main aim of sims is to mod it, so that I can have more than 8 sims and have as many children as I can possibly have, also having grandchildren and great-grandchildren all in the same household, and missing toddlers from that will upset me...

Yes I am a bit nuts...

 • Oh, those rooms look so cool.
But hey, remember guys! Once Sims 4 comes out, all the Sims 3 expansion packs will be super cheap lots on eBay!

Anyway, I think it's kind of silly to not have toddlers or pools. I know they redid a lot of the game completely and worked really hard on tons of other options. But if they have the other stages of life, why can't they add the toddler stage back in? I guess I don't quite understand why they did it. I bet they could easily add pools again in a later expansion pack, I wonder if they'd be able to do that with toddlers, too. Who knows?

 • Can't wait for sims 4, sims 3 will drop in price yay!

I'm not working any more so have no money for sims 4 D: prob wont even run on my laptop, sick of sims 3 crashing when I download a load of cars for it T.T.

 • Oh yes! I am very excited! My mom and dad told me that they would get it for me after school starts (so happy that school starts back when the game comes out!) Even though I might not have much time for it during the school week, I can probably fit it in on the weekend or during the week, occasionally. I am very into the Sims 3, so I cannot wait for the Sims 4! ^_^
 • So as everyone is discussing the Sims 4.

I have been playing with the Create A Sim Demo that is available and I have managed to create a rather young looking, Severus Snape (Harry Potter). As I am a little nuts about both Sims 4 and Harry Potter :) and here he is...

<a href="http://darkflamewebsites.webs.com/images/Snape Sim.png" target="_blank" class="bb-url">Snape

 • Ha awesome!

I've not played with the demo much, as I was never big into creating the sims. My tool of choice is build/buy mode! Shame they can't release that as a demo hahaa.

Number of things I'm not a massive fan of at the moment, but I'm hoping that there is more to it than meets the eyes. Always hard playing a new version of the game when, if you are like me, have had all the expansions of the last version. You forget how little of it is actually in the base game. Hoping they don't take too long to bring out the first expansion - whatever that may be. Ideally one with toddlers! Hahaa.

They did say it is going to be like Sims 1 - where baby grows straight into child and continues with the life stages from there.

5 weeks on Friday and the game will supposedly be released! For the UK anyway. Annoying as I go on holiday the next day it is out, so will be sat on a beach pondering over how I could have been playing the game hahaa.

 • Haha I would have LOVED to a demo of the build/buy mode, since that is my fave part, I usually create a sim at the start of playing don't spend much time on them and then go around creating different games with the same sim, to build them different houses lol.

I was playing the demo cause I was pretty bored and decided to see how easy/difficult it would be to create a real life person as a sim... so obviously chose Snape (Alan Rickman) lol. Unfortunately they don't have too much hair choices so I was a little disappointed by his hair... its just not right lol.

I know what you mean about the expansions. I have ALL of the Sims 3 ones and it kinda puts me off buying Sims 4 which is actually pretty expensive if you ask me (£50 for ONE game). Since I don't want to spend as much money on the Sims 4 as I did the Sims 3... I feel like EA have too much of my money...

I'm still waiting for the release though xD

 • Not yet... In the UK at least... I have to wait until it is released tomorrow to play it... And I'm sick so may not get to play it yet :(

 • I never played Sims 3, but I always heard good things about it, and I'm thinking about preordering myself a copy of Sims 4, I'm just not sure how much time I'd have for it, and its so expensive I'd like to get some decent value out of it.
 • If money is a limit it isn't worth pre-ordering at the moment as a base game. They are always very empty, people are complaining about it at the moment. But they are fools and seem to have forgotten that a lot of the "missing things from Sims 4" was never in a base game for any of the series!

Simm has had the rant off me already about the list hahaa.

I'm a big fan, so a bit sad and had it on pre-order since March 3rd. It will be arriving for me tomorrow so I get a night to play it as I'm leaving Saturday morning to go to the airport to go on holiday >.> Talk about timing...

The demon baby issue at the moment looks rather freaky though!

 • I'v not heard the buzz on it, wanna gives a list of whats missing and whats new to it?

 • I've played a bit of it during some time off work (I was ill) and its pretty cool.

The only thing really "missing" are the toddlers and pools, all the other stuff people say are missing are stuff leke basemenmts (Sims 3 World Adventures) and other things like that. So the stuff that was always in expansions.

Sims now have emotions, which are VERY cool, its not as cool watching videos. I pre-ordered my version off Amazon and paid £33 rather than the whole £50 that EA was trying to charge. Its gone up in price on Amazon to like £39 but still a lot cheaper than EA.

Also children have child skills like creativity, social, motor and something else. And they have lifetime wishes as children which then. Change as they grow into teens.

The weird thing is seeing a baby grow into a child cause it like jumps out of the crib... Creepy.

It's also a lot easier to create sims and build houses :) YAY. Although you may spend a lot of time in Create A Sim mode.

Its very fun, the minimum requirements would probably allow it to run on a laptop... i wouldn't like to try it on my own laptop though... I have quite an old PC in the fact that its more than 4years old. However it's a gaming PC that my partner built for himself at the time and was far above the average PC then. It doesn't like Sims 3 all that much though, with all the expansion packs, mods and CC that I have...
