Well for unforseen reasons we have a new addition to the family. It was a rescue. A lady had an " accidental" litter of 13 pit bull puppies. She was going to put them in the pound at 3 weeks old! They had only been eating hard flood for 4 days and couldn't even stay warm on their own.

so yes I am now the proud owner of a little pit bull baby. He is blue merle with a bridle overlay. He is amazing already. Technically the merle gene is not in the pit bull but way back in the bloodline there was probably a catahoula leopard dog in the mix or something mixed with a Catahoula. Now all that is expressed from the Catahoula is the markings but the dogs look pure pit bull.<a href="http://americanpitbullregistry.com/pitbullpictures.htm"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://americanpitbullregistry.com/pitbullpictures.htm</a>;

That's what I getting ready to say and I was hoping you wouldn't take it the wrong way. Purebred APBTs cannot be merle. Cute baby, nevertheless!

Gator is 3 months only now and is over 28lbs. Grows every day! Although it makes the mix obvious, I LOVE that color on him. He's gorgeous! He's going to look so handsome and unique once he's fully grown.

So an update on The Gator boy! He is 8 months old now. Wow time flies.

He currently weighs 58 lbs so not to big. He is 23 inches at the shoulder. He is one of the best dogs ever. He is a solid mass of love. Not really. lol I start off on leash. I usually just get some food, put it on the ground, say stay, don't let the dog get it, then release the dog to eat the food. Once they get better, increase the distance and time in the stay command.
