House Sitting/Dog Sitting

edited July 2013 in Vent
I'm quickly learning that taking care of other people's dogs is more stressful for me than it is to take care of their horses. I'm house/dog sitting and it FREAKS. ME. OUT.
The dogs are great but they bark at things that my dog wouldn't bark at and it always makes me think that something is wrong. To make matters worse, the people who live behind the house have a dog-aggressive pitbull that just terrorizes the two dogs I'm caring for. The younger of the two dogs gets excited and barks but that pit is determined to get through the fence. It's absolutely terrifying!
I find myself having to time when the pit is out in order to let the two dogs out without hassle. The young dog that gets excited does have a vibration collar but he only listens to it half of the time.
The dogs are well trained and are extremely sweet but I guess it's stressful because I don't know their little quirks.
Ugh.

Anyone else had a problem like this?
