Breeding Kennel Question

I want to know if anyone would know why my pups have been coming out with really bad stats? I was making progress on strength and endurance and now it's so bad that I don't see the point in keeping on. My highest strength pup is at 148 and now the new pups are coming in at 141-maybe 145. I know I'm not the only player having this issue because I saw someone else complain about in in bark park. Anyone have any insight?

 • Stupid question, but you are breeding on a sponsor breeding kennel with 100 in breeding right? And have the skill locked? >.>

Sometimes the pups don't come out with the best of stats, can be lower than the parents. I think overbreeding and inbreeding can have an impact on how stats increase, but I could be wrong.

Also this should have probably gone into the question section of the forum =)

 • In my experience, stats increase less and less each generation. And then there comes a point where certain stats become "stubborn" and may or may not raise at all :| Even before you get to that point, it's not uncommon to produce pups with significantly lower stats than the parents. Since it's somewhat up to chance which stats increase and how much they increase, you could get pups with generally higher stats even if the stats you were going for didn't improve (like with much higher adaptability and endurance but much lower strength).

I'm not sure how you've been grooming/breeding, but I'd recommend having your female dogs groomed up until they only have about a year left of fertility, then breeding until you can't anymore. You get more pups which increases the chances of getting some with the stats you're looking for.

Good luck! I hope you don't give up on your line :-)

 • Yes, the kennel I am using is sponsor with skills locked. I'm not sure what's going on with my line. Very frustrating.
 • Which breeds you are using may also impact how high you can get stats. Breeds with high values in, say, strength in the breed standard are more likely to get 148+ strength than dogs with lower strength in their breed standard.

That said, when you get in the 148 range it gets increasingly difficult to improve the stat. It may take a few more gens to get to 148.1, depending upon how the dogs are trained, to what age they are trained, how many times you breed them, etc.
