I feel the same about the unfinished stories! I can never get any done!
  • I lose the motivation to do them or get new ideas part way through and never finish them ive come across ones ive written years ago and i think "i should really finish this one day" :)

I just write and then have a new idea and move on and by the time I come back to the other story, I usually forgot how I was going to end it or continue it-.- As for books, I have shelves upon shelves of them! I've read and re-read almost all of them as well. And that's neat Garnet! My uncle actually introduced me to a writing site which publishes a volume twice a year and you can actually submit to be published in the next volume.
  • Ran out of bookshelves ,i love going to second hand shops and buying all the old books (and board games) only non internet way for me to get a hold of the books i donr have from Patricia Cornwells Scarpetta series. Having poetry published is cool :)

  • Omg i know how that feels to run outta shelves.. i have no room left and need another bookcase to put the rest of my books on. this is AFTER i gave three boxes of books to my friend for a garage sale back when we were raising money for his probation xD
  • I love to write! The notes section on my iPod are filled with unfinished ideas that I just had to get down. I'm probably not the best writer, but hey, I like it. I do have a Wattpad, but it's rare that I use the account to write, for the most part I just read, recently I've been reading a lot of romance. XD

  • I loooooveee to write. I mostly write stories meant for film, so they're in script form. I use a program called Scrivener to keep track of all my stories. I'm also about 22 chapters into a fiction novel I've been working on for like 2 years. Haven't touched it in awhile xD And recently, I've started writing fan fiction. Because of reasons o.o
The one fan fiction I have published right now is actually the very first story I have let others read xD Weird, I know. But I'm really self conscious about my writing.

Reading is also a passion of mine :) I have this problem where I can't just be reason one book at a time, though. I finishe a set of books last month, and at the time I was reading back and fourth between 5 different ones xD idk how I do it, it's just the way my brain works I guess. It's weird because I'm really horrible at multitasking, but I can't read a book without doing that...
Those 5 books were 13 Reasons Why, Cloud Atlas, Beautiful Creatures,The Wettest Coury in the World, and You Are Here.3 of them I downloaded because I wanted to read the books before I watched the movies lol

  • Oohhh! I love to read and write.
Reading especially!

I'm currently reading Game of Thrones, but I've nearly finished! I have all the books in the Song of Fire and Ice trilogy on my iPad, which is weird for me because I have nearly 200 actual books (and I -LOVE- my books).. I've also got both my mum and dad into reading them. xD

I love HP. HG. Inheritance Cycle. Ranger's Apprentice (and the spin-off Brotherband Chronicles). Gee there are so many I can't list them all! My ultimate favourite series, which has yet to be beaten by -anything- as of yet. Is the Obernewtyn Chronicles. My prefix on VP is based from it. REO (Rushton and Elspeth of Obernewtyn). Super excited for the the final book, the Red Queen, I have been waiting months!

I enjoy writing as well, a lot of my stories come from my dreams.. which in turn my dreams are created by whatever teevee series or movies I've watched recently.. They storylines and characters generally merge together and if I think it is cool I write what I dream as soon as I wake up. xD
I haven't written anything in a while, but if I remember correctly, my current unfinished novel is about a group of teenage rebels, measling their way through the ranks of their elders. Some of them even have abilities (telekinesis, coersion, manipulation of elements, etc).
Thinking about it makes me want to find my collection of books and paper to write a little more!

  • I'm working on two novels(writing them) right now:) One is quite a ways developed and is Fourteen Chapters long. The other is just a little teaser I have for an idea right now:) Writing is my passion and free time, and I would love to make a living from it. But simply, I don't think I have enough talent for that xD

But, I'm good just writing and sharing it on Wattpad. I love seeing what other can come up with and I spend most of my time reading/writing on Wattpad!
The website I used when I posted my original works online for others to read was <a href="http://www.fictionpress.com"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">http://www.fictionpress.com; (it's just like fanfiction.net except it is for original works whereas ff.net is obviously for fanfiction only.)

I used to write an awful lot more than I do now. I started back in...2004? writing Pirates of the Caribbean fanfiction. It was really bad. :P Thank goodness, I've improved since then! Lately it's been in random spurts that I write. I have dozens of novels and plays started, only a few are completed rough drafts, while others are 200+ pages of plotline. Back in high school I got into entering my writing into local and in one case a national contest. To this day I'm rather shocked that they received any recognition, let alone some cash prizes. I would still love to be able to focus on writing and turn it into a career, but I find myself distracted too often by too many things (like VP!)

I do enjoy a good read. Right now a series of books that I really enjoy are the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters. They are mystery novels set in Egypt at the turn of the century, following a family of archaeologists that have a knack for running into trouble. The books are fabulously well-written and the characters endearing.
  • I have used to have quite a talent for writing and I love coming up with new ideas but I can never seem to put my thoughts to words these days. I have stacks upon stacks of notebooks full of unfinished novels I started on but could never figure out how to finish. the only one I ever finished was one I started in middle school. it was pretty bad. The characters consisted of me, my good friends, and actors/musicians we considered 'hot' back then. I think it ended with Nick Jonas falling in love with me 0.o Like I said, I was in middle school.
When I was around 11, I wrote a short story for a contest to benefit our local animal shelters and I got an honorable mention :) I was very proud.

I absolutely LOVE reading! I can completely lose myself in a book and become oblivious to what's going on around me. I'm a huge Harry Potter/Percy Jackson/Narnia/Hunger Games/LOTR fan and I really love John Green's books. The Fault In Our Stars was really touching. I laughed and cried (more like sobbed) with Hazel and I just loved the book. "An Abundance Of Katherines" and "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" are also some good John Green books. I loved The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. The Divergent series (by Veronica Roth) is AMAZING if you haven't already read it. I'm currently reading Beautiful Creatures (it may sound a bit like Twilight but it's so much better) and my best friend is reading the Mortal Instruments series (which she says is great too). Also, if you like classics, I've got oodles of suggestions there too :)
"I fell in love the way you fall asleep. Slowly, then all at once." ~The Fault In Our Stars
"Some people have lives; some people have music." ~Will Grayson, Will Grayson
    I'm a Nerdfighter.
  • I love writing :) I post unfinished things on my blog thing (not sure I can mention names... this site has weird rules I do not remember, lol) for my friend to read... I don't tag them or anything because I don't really care to have everyone reading them xD It's a "write every day" kind of thing so rarely is anything posted that is "finished" -- but I have fun with it when I actually do it.
All good things must come to an end. All endings will begin new good things.

  • Nickel?!?! You're alive?!?!?!

Anyways...I love writing and reading!
I've participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) two times and I've really taking a liking to writing scripts and screenplays (won an award for a script that was filmed!). I've always been a reader ^.^ I don't have a particular genre that I like because I'll read just about anything I can get my hands on. I am, however, fond of books that deal with a lot of psychological aspects of the characters.

My favorite books (in no particular order):
1. Room by Emma Donoghue
2. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
3. Unwind by Neal Shusterman

I'll keep it to my top three for your sake xD I could go on and on haha

It's funny that you mention "The Fault in Our Stars" as I've just started reading that. I was out of options and my mum suggested it and I picked it up today. I haven't even opened the book yet as I've been so swamped with studying and such for the rest of my finals.

Any who, back to writing and reading.

I've never been one to right 'fan fics' sort of, like what you did with Nick Jonas(I find that funny:D). I usually write fiction with fantasy/romance sort of a spin to it. The current novel I'm working on actually shocks me. It is actually developing into a book! Hehe:) Most of the things I write end up being forgotten or tossed aside as I cannot seem to find a way too continue it and keep it interesting. I'm just glad I have two that I'm working on now that I DO know how to continue. So, right now, my main goal is to finish up those two and start "The Fault in our Stars".

Woah, super star in the room, everyone make room! What was the film called? I'd be interested to look for it and watch it if possible:) I'm sure it's really good! I agree with you on the psychological aspects. It just becomes uninteresting to me without them -.- As for the books, I've never heard of any of those (hangs head in shame). I REALLY need to get out into the world again.
  • Unfortunately, the film isn't posted anywhere that I'm aware of because it was done independently and then shown at a festival. It was titled "Shadows" and was a suspense film.

I've only managed to complete one novel, titled "Eli". I can post it as a google document if anyone is interested in reading it! Keep in mind that it was my first major piece and isn't exactly the best work I've done haha

Shame:/ Im sure it was good though:) I'd love to read your novel if you uploaded it:) As I've said a hundred times before, I love reading what other people come up with:) (and mentally judge how horrible I am compared to them, hehe xD)
  • So I was just about to post a discussion thread solely dedicated to "The Fault In Our Stars", but then I decided to check to make sure nobody had talked about it recently. Good thing I checked..

Anyway. I just have to get this out because I can't talk to anybody in my house about it without spoiling something. Literally finished it 10 minutes ago, and I think I spent a good half hour crying over it. Just, oh. I have a new book to be obsessed with. Plus, there's a movie coming out soon (fingers crossed they don't butcher it). Such a good book, if you ever have the opportunity to read it, go for it! The language was so complex, yet so thought provoking, it really gave you something to chew on. It just shows you a different perspective on a lot of things, on life in general, I guess.

I've gotten to read to about page 20 I think? Not much, I know, but considering my schedule that's a good amount! So far it's really good and I LOVE Hazel:) She's neat:) I can already see what you mean by showing you a different perspective as well:) I finally have some free time so I'm actually writing right now. Thank God I found time!
